Hey Tina,
Are you watching right now? I really enjoyed fantasia's performance... however I don't always care for her attitude. My ultimate this season is George. But for some reason i have a soft spot for john stevens (redhead). All though his earliest performances were the best. It is going to be tough to pick an avie on friday.

Hey, what do I know? I liked Amy! Last year I liked Julia! The last week I voted for Clay! My biggest problem is the lack of respect shown for Simon (the producer of the show) when he's usually handing out corrective criticism.

Elizabeth, yes, I was watching. STILL didn't like Fantasia, maybe even MORE now than ever. LOL. I thought it was all over the top.... Esp the tears!?!

ANYHOO................ I liked Amy too! Elizabeth, I have a soft spot for John too, but I think at this point he is just waiting til he gets voted off. I could see him getting a record deal in that genre tho, couldn't you?

I LOVE Simon!!! Fantasia said something really nasty to him way back, b4 the final 12, does anyone remember that? Maybe that's why I don't like her? No, I REALLY just don't enjoy her voice.........

Yeah I remember what fantasia said and that is when she was soured in my eyes.

Yeah john's problem is that he isn't versatile. But he definitely rocks what he knows... the frank sinatra genre.

So....I have fallen in love with George. Everytime he sings and smiles I just want to pinch his cheeks! I love his smile and the way his eyes just sparkle! He is my fave!

I love Latoya and Diana DeGarmo. I do like Fantasia too- I have from the very beginning. But she does have a bit of an attitude problem especially against Simon.

I hated Simon the first season but this season he has just been dead on aon all of his criticisms- especially of John Stevens. i just dont like him- and Simon is right- no personality, no charisma!

But my vote is with George!

George's enthusiasm is what makes him great. He is absolutely excited & blessed and feels lucky to be there. I think a little bit of humility is a good trait for an american idol...I think Fantasia could be a great American DIVA! :D

did you know that simon fuller is actually the producer? not cowell, tho he may coproduce or something now, dunno. but simon fuller is the one behind it, not cowell. very interesting. and cowell does have a great history, tho he is a tad harsh!

latoya seems to have this one wrapped up. unless enough people like the macy gray sound of fantasia. dunno. love george tho! makes you just want to give it to him now! love happy people like that! Ü

I thought JPL's last performance was soo very much him. Love how he let loose and was in the audience and such...VERY FUN!!

I did not enjoy the splish splash bit they did I thought some of those guys were too young to be prancing around in bath towels all in the shower together etc....I guess I'm just a prude.

Hmmm ... I just don't know who to pick this time around, I mean, I cringe almost every time these people get up to sing! There are a couple who have come along way, and although they are about a million times better than me (i don't even sing in the shower) I think idol needs to take a wee break, they are ending up picking from the same pool each time, with just a few new entrants each time, so the quality is getting less and less.

I'm watching and waiting ..... there've been some vast improvements lately, but I just can't see some of them getting a saleable album if they were to win! I think some of them are cuties, JPL and the little redhead, but I can't stand to watch them, it's like pulling hairs to me! Oh well, just my opinion, and i've been wrong before, lol!

I feel like this season they had more people who were really good than the first 2 seasons. George, LaToya, Fantasia, Diana Degarmo, Jennifer, and even Jasmine are all good. I just think that with Diana and Jasmine- they are a little too young for this competition but they have awesome voices!

Season 2 really only had Ruben (Roooooooooben! I loved himi!), Clay, and Kimberly Locke- everybody else was just average. The first season had quite a few too (Kelly, Tamayra Gray, Christina Christen) but Im really enjoying this season more for some reason!

Amber I agree with you I am for some reason enjoying this season more than the last. However after the auditions where they had soooo many horrible singers i was DYING for someone who could actually sing near the right key.

Schmoopy- I semi agree with you though...I am not nearly as impressed with the singers in the top 10. It makes me wonder who they sent home when they were all split up into 3 large groups. There were some good singers back then. The sad part is who ever wins their album will sell & their tour will do good cuz people like American Idol (even if they don't like the winner).

I mean look at Justin's career doing alright and he in my opinion Stunk! :-P (his hair drove me crazy) Hehehe

I hate it when the judges talk down about the other contestants tho. Annoys the He!! out of me!! Popularity contest?? Maybe America LIKES THOSE PEOPLE better, it is AMERICA who decides after all. They want someone we can be proud of they say, then stop infulencing votes. Let america decide. Sometimes i wish there were no judges. I think LaToya was in it cuz of her comment last night, and I think that Jennifer oversings everything and America had enuf of that, and maybe they are over Fantasia................. It's AMERICAN FREAKIN IDOL not PAULA/RANDY/SIMON Idol! :mad: Can I get an Oy?

However, I agree with the judges- the premise of this competition was to find the best singer- not the most popular. It just so happens that the first 2 seasons the best singer was the most popular.

I do not think that John Stevens should be there at all. I dont know why America keeps voting for him- he is not an American Idol. Hes not even a teenage idol. He has a mediocre voice and no personality. Oh well....

I agree with Simon that LaToya is the best singer in the competition- but I still love George!

Im secretly glad that Jennifer got voted off- her facial expressions just get on my nerves. But she was getting better as the show went on.

I still think that LaToya, Jennifer, Fantasia, George, and Diana will get recording deals- no matter who wins!

Anyhoo, last night Simon said "You think you can win this, don't you" and she said a flat out YES. I mean, she should have said, I hope so, america will decide, whatever, she came off sounding conceited.

Amber, I have to disagree with 2 of your comments.. American Idol was set up to chose who America THINKS is the best singer, ya know? I mean look at some of the most popular singers out there, they aren't the best, yet we love them, ya know? Also, what one person views as the best, certainly isn't what another does (ie, I do not get the Fantasia thing ;)).

And I strongly believe that Clay was far more popular than Ruben. The record sales say it all. :) The votes just don't stack up sometimes.

No offense, I hope, cuz it's JMHO, of course! :D

IMHO, he is such a breath of fresh air on the show. He doesn't have a lot of power in his voice, but all the other constestants sound exactly the same (too loud and trying too hard) and this viewer prefers a low key presentation when it comes to vocals.


I've never voted before, but next week I'm going to be sure to cast a vote in his direction.

But the thing is, Randy and Simon are in the business of producing stars. The program is offering to make someone a star -- they have to have the stamina and voice to get us to buy their CDs. I have two CDs of Clay Aiken -- and I play them, I enjoy them. I was disappointed with tonight's results -- there are a couple also from prior weeks that should still be there for the talent. Oh well, I'll never even know what a million dollars looks like.

Well if the judges don't like who america is voting then they can do 1 of 2 things....PICK BETTER TOP 10 contestants or Stopletting america vote. If they don't do those things then shhhhh they can't say anything but critique performances.

IT's so funny b/c when we (me & my coworker) watch american idol at first we couldn't remember all the top 10's names so we had nicknames for them.

Next week- Im definitely going to be voting and those votes will go Georges way! I will probably slip some votes for LaToya- I think she is the best singer in the group. I also like Diana Degarmo- I think her voice is just beautiful!

About the comment from LaToya- I personally didnt think she was being rude or arrogant or stuck up- Simon kinda put her in an awkward position. Asking her in front of a national audience if she thought she could win. How is someone supposed to answer that?

John is really good at what John does and it's so painful to hear him sing what they make him sing. That's like listening to Britney Spears sing Opera, she'd be out of her element. This week, they were ALL out of their element. If there was one episode that should be banned from TV forever, THAT was it. Eeeks!

Go Jenna!!! I really wished that they didn't make John S. sing at the end...it was hard enough the first time. As much as I like him it was his time to go. I said if George left the show last night I would not watch anymore. That was a scary moment.

However I hope he gets back to the top next week....and that they can pick songs they could actually sing!!

The thing with American Idol is is that they are looking for the best talent. Someone who can have their own style and be good at it but also do well in a genre that they dont normally do. A well-rounded person like LaToya or even Fantasia. They have taken every genre and have been excellent or way above average. John Stevens is a one genre man and I think he might have a career in Vegas or something! :) He is a nice guy and I feel bad for everything that happened last week concerning him.

George is still my favorite all though he has been falling behind the last few weeks.

yeah, i think jasmine's done. diana did better, but i just can't take her giggliness. she has a powerful voice, but it's not smooth and natural to me. dont' love fantasia's voice, but she is good and is certainly the best performer. latoya's strong and consistent. dunno! Ü

So I was very disappointed with the result show yesterday. I did not think LaToya deserved to be voted out over Jasmine. But then again, when it is down to the final 4 its anybodys game.

Im just frustrated that it has turned into a teeny-bopper popularity contest and not based on talent. I also think that Fox should re-consider their voting options and maybe open it up to internet voting- maybe more people would vote if it was easier to actually cast a vote.

With that being said- even though I love the show- I think it might be time to move on.

I totally agree...I was utterly SHOCKED that LaToya went before Jasmine... I told myself that I wasn't going to watch when george got voted off then i flipped by the channel on tuesday and saw diana singing and was like WOW...since she is in GA I'm gonna be cheering her on...I've never ever voted so it is not like my opinion really matters then. :p

I watched the first season then skipped over the 2nd season and have been just catching bits & pieces of this season....I think if they continue for a 4th season something has to change....spice it up a bit (in the words of emeril BAM!)

Also I'm getting tired of the shameless promotions of the American Idol products...I mean geezzz :D

well, that's how it goes when America gets to decide. I mean CLAY was the obvious winner last year, he has outsold all the other idols combined.... So, that's the way the cookie crumbles, imho.

I'll admit, I wan't really invested in any of the singers this year. George was my fav, but I didn't go crazy over him. I think Clay ruined me.

LaToya started going downhill when she got overconfident. She said she thought she would win and America said... oh no you won't. I mean the LAST thing we need is another stuck up star. She was already there and not even famous yet. I'll admit I DID like her voice, but I didn't like her attitude.

Fantasia I don't like ANYTHING about........ ESP not her VOICE. oy. I don't like her attitude, I don't like her crocodile tears, and I don't like that voice! sorry!

I like Jazzy, but don't think she should win.

At this point I am hoping Diana bags it, but I really don't care. It's been a lame season for me. :p

Actually, all of them will get some sort of notariety.
Some may be bad...Just look at Reuben now...his onterage (spell) was busted on a highway in Ohio for possession of a large amount of marijuana....makes you wonder now doesn't it?

Watched for first time last night & I wasn't impressed by any of them.

I haven't watch AI since Kelly won...I think that was a true winner there, although the boy (can't remember his name) with the hair and the other 2 black girls have had some stardom as a result from their being associated with the show.

Wasn't there a special on a couple weeks ago with the losers...the one girl was Hawaian (spell) and sang a song special for Simon. So that just goes to show you...they're getting something out of this that they can say they did it! It's better than my hoarse sound sqwalking voice trying to belt out ELMO tunes...hahaha lmbo (have a touch of larengitis).
