"You currently have Adobe Photoshop's primary Scratch and Windows' primary paging file on the same volume, which can result in reduced performance. It is recommended that you set Adobe Photoshop's primary Scratch volume to be on a different volume, perferably on a different physical drive." (with an OK button under the message.) When I click ok everything seems to work fine. What does it mean and what should/can I do to fix it?

All I needed to do was reboot my computer. It has something to do with windows & photoshop using the same memory space? - something like that. What I did was search google using the the warning: You currently have Adobe Photoshop's primary Scratch and Windows' primary paging file on the same volume, which can result in reduced performance. It is recommended that you set Adobe Photoshop's primary Scratch volume to be on a different volume, perferably on a different physical drive.
It came up with some answers on how to fix it. Hope that helps.

Thank you :) . I did notice that when I started it today it didn't show the message. I wasn't sure if the problem was still there though. I will do a google search now.

I have got the same reply on my photoshop 6.0:
(You currently have Adobe Photoshop's primary Scratch and Windows' primary paging file on the same volume, which can result in reduced performance. It is recommended that you set Adobe Photoshop's primary Scratch volume to be on a different volume, perferably on a different physical drive." (with an OK button under the message.)
However the main problem I have is when i go to open files in adobe and select an image to open, Photoshop closes its self.
Some times it will sucessfully open one or two images before closing and some times it will close adobe as soon as the open window pops up.
Any ideas??

for the scratch issue:

for your closing issue, it sounds like an uninstall and reinstall is needed.
