View Full Version : What do you do with your 8x10 layouts?

First off, let me say that I am WAY new to this.

Second, I thought that 8x10 would be a good size. Easy to get printed ANYWHERE for not a lot of $$$ etc. But does anyone have an album for 8X10? I have looked and have not found any. I know that Denis has one, but it was from a canadian supplier.

I thought of the books that models use ... but haven't found those either.

What do YOU do?

One more thing ... 8x8 would be a good alternative to 12x12 and offer the same ease of use as 8x10 ... and the albums are already out there!!!

I just think i like the rectangle better than the square!

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks!

Mike

p.s. - Has anyone seen my schmoopsiepoo?

oh that's tooooo funny!! there are 8x10 albums, lots, but i can't remember right now and have to run. will check. i just center mine on 8½x11s and put in binders. and yes, lots do 12x12s and just print as 8x8s for those albums. but there are 8x10s... i'll look soon. someone jump in! :D

I will say, I don't normally print out 8 x 10 unless I may put in a frame. I mainly do 12 x 12 and print 8 x 8..and they turn out beautiful. For some reason I love the 'square look' .

Now, I looked on the net (yahoo search) and found several places selling 8 x10 albums, one in particular is pioneer albums(these are also sold in many stores in the states; including office max). I am sure you could find more though.

Just do a search...I am sure there would be something of interest. But I wasn't sure if you just wanted a plain album or not. :p

Welcome Mike you came to the right place if you are new to digital scrapbooking this place is full of resources. I do the same thing as margie I put my in a sheet protector & print them on 8.5x11 sheets just centered it leaves a border around it and for right now that works for me. If that works for you there are plenty of options not having to use a 3 ring binder.

I havent printed any of my layouts yet but decided to switch from 8.5x11 to 8x10 since I dont have a borderless printer. I just plan on printing on 8.5x11 pages and then place them in my album in a sheet protector as is or cut it out and mount on cardstock and then put in my album!.

thanks for all your responses.

i was looking more for a post-bound or strap bound book rather that the 3-ring binder option. sorry ... i am kind of anal ... i can't help it!

i also would prefer 8 x 10 pages rather than the 8.5 x 11 option. reason ... see above ; )

i think i looked at all of those links, margie. thanks for posting them! but i am not sure i have found something that i like yet.

i don't think i found 8x10 at century. maybe they were there, but i didn't find them.

i didn't see any at archivers.

pioneer = ugly ... but they may just have to do!

i think kolo only has 10 x 8.

and eframes ... well, i can't remember now!

but i am gonna keep looking.

if anyone finds/has a decent looking post or strap bound 8x10 album ... let us all know!!!!!! please!

thanks girls!

They have 8.5x11 Post Bound Albums that use sheet protectors. So...do your layout 8x10 have it print. Mount on 8.5x11 cardstock and stick in a post bound album. If you tend to do a lot of 2-page spreads just mount your 8x10 on the edge of the paper instead of dead-center.

ok - i found a solution for the time being ...

itoya art profolio evolution.

they are not like NICE scrapboooks, but they are affordable, acid free, and THE RIGHT SIZE!

they come in lots of sizes and have 24 pages and will hold 48 layouts.

i found them online.

at some point maybe i will switch to something else, but for now, this is what i am going to use!

HTH!

I use portfolio albums for 8 by 10 photos. you can get them at most any photography store. They run about 15-20 bucks. I know you can get better ones than that, they offer them at my daughters modeling agency but those puppies are about 80 bucks and have a life time guarentee :)

Hi, I have found some nice 8x10 albums at Michaels Crafts stores, they also have the supplies for you to make your own albums, you can bound it, you can connect the cover by ribbons, raffia, etc.
