:( Hi there everyone,

I actually feel like a newbie have been away so long but those who remember me I'm Sue from Sydney, busy working this year but hopefully next feww months more time to spend to play with you all her at DSP.

I have got psp XI and am so stuck on the organizer
In PSP 9 i could open my browser open a new file and drag and drop all my gorgeous kits and piccies straight into my new file very quickly.
In PSP XI i have to open up each individual file copy and then paste as a new layer....
I have gone to File preferences and looked to see whether anything obvious in settings and AM STUCK Ahhhhhhhhh

So any help/ advise would be so so much appreciated
Hugs
Sue

Sue:

I'm using PSP X, and I simply use Windows Explorer with thumbnails showing to drag and drop into PSP. But it would be awesome to figure out a way to drag them directly INTO the image I want them in.

The browser change is my biggest complaint with the new PSP since Corel took it - and I let them know. They did reply - but have no intention of changing it back.

I loved the browser cuz I could select five or ten items, double click, and they'd all open -- with Windows Explorer, one has to do it one at a time. And the old browser would sit at the back, minding it's own business -- the new one is always on top - it's now a palette, so you can set it to roll up when you take the mouse off, but what a hassle!

So I've kept PSP9 on my computer - mainly for the browser and what I use it for. You can copy and paste back and forth (old version to new if they're both open) but that becomes a bit much, too. Cuz I also like the new features in PSP X and XI for digital photos. Sigh.

Pam: You should be able to multiple select from Windows Explorer, too.

Click then hold down the:

Shift key ... selects every file between the first click to the second.

CTRL Key ... selects only the specific files you click on.

Then double click on the last click you make and they should all open in the default program for them.

Actually, you could just drag them all selected like that, too.

But they open in seperate images in PSP ... not the same one. :)

P.S. Sorry I can't help with the browser thing, tho. Has anyone looked to see if there's a script that might mimic it?

Thanks so much for the replies and Hello's nice to be back !!. Pam, obviously you have the same issue, yes I also kept PSP 9 too so maybe will have to toggle between them I really dislike the PSP XI organiser but some of the features are cool.
I wouldn't have a clue where to start with the script Deb but great idea if it can be done.:)

Glad you are back, I wondered where you were!! I tried a trial of PSP XI. You know what, I have used PSP since version 6 and I have never dragged and dropped anything! And I dont do much with the browser so I havent noticed anything much with it in Version XI (didnt use X, mostly 7,8 and 9). I think because I taught myself I probably dont do anything the way it should be done or use the program to it's full potential. Anyway I really love XI and want it when I save up after xmas. Love the new photo effects and photo enhancing. Glad to see you back here!! :yahoo:

Valerie: I have used PSP a long time, too - and never once used the browser! I thought it was something that looked a photos for me, and I had image viewing software. So I just never even tried it.

Glad to see someone else say it - I kept thinking to myself, "Am I the only one who didn't use the thing?"

That's good Deb!! Glad it's not just me too!! I only just figured out I could dragged layers around in the layer palette! I used to move them up and down by using the top tool bar, layers, move up, down, and click one layer at a time. Talk about time consuming, but I didnt know any different. I select multiple images how you do it too, using the shift or ctrl keys.

I have PSPX and use my browser all the time to drag stuff into my images so I'm going to be very disappointed if I get XI and can't do it!!

I know you can use windows explorer to drag and drop but it puts it as a new image not a new layer so you still have to copy and paste. Think i'll have to stick with X then!!!

I have PSPX and use the broswser all the time. I keep mine on top and auto hide so it easy to access. It is a plus being able to drag and drop the pictures directly to the lo. Grazy for them not to have it in PSPXI.

I use both windows explorer and the browser in XI, and I do it the same way for each, drag and drop into the PSP window, then ctrl+c, ctrl+l

I use mainly PSP 9 or X, don't intend on buying XI, I personally don't think it's worth it.
