PSE Question - Effects

Hi,

I am new to scrapbooking and using PSE 2.0. I want to use the Effects selection for some of my photos but when I chose it, it will apply it to the whole layout. How do I set it so it only applies it to the image (photo) rather than the whole layout?

It sounds like you may have flattened the layout???? Any of the effects should only be applied to the layer you're working on - or does anyone know if that's an issue with PSE 2????

That's the weird part. I am working in the layer that I was the Effect in but it still will go ahead and apply it to the whole thing. I have even hidden the rest of the layers to see if it would work...and it doesn't. Hhhmmm...

you need to use your selection tools and select just the thing you want to apply the effect to. So if its a whole layer ctrl click on the layer in the layers palette to get the marching ants :)
