Hi all - I am shopping around for a program in which I can design my own page kits. I have experience using both Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro from a web design standpoint, but I am curious as to which one digital scrapbooking designers prefer and why. Could you offer some information on which you prefer?
Thanks,
Moira

You're going to find people sitting on both sides of that fence, and some perched in the middle.
Like almost any other creative effort, what is 'best' is going to be what is most comfortable for you to use. I use Paint Shop Pro, but am trying to learn PhotoShop. The two interfaces and approaches to how basic tasks are done are somewhat different, more different than I expected. So right now, the learning curve is KILLING me.
Just based on this experience alone, my advice is to pick the one you expect will be best for you and learn it - changing just HURTS. :)

I was used to PSP from using it at work, so that's what I chose. And there are a lot of folks here that use PSP. But there is more information out there in general for PS.
I would love to learn PS, but so far I haven't been able to justify the price tag when I can do most everything I want in PSP.
I tried PSE since I had a trial version, but I was more familiar with PSP and just kept coming back to it.

I absolutely LOVE Photoshop! But, I am a professional graphic designer and that is what I use on a daily basis, so I am confortable with it. PS has many more tools and add-ons than any other scrapping type program, but it is more expensive. It really comes down to what you can afford and your learning curve. I hear that PSP is a good program, but have never used it.
