Wardrobe clean-up. If old clothes, shoes are still in decent shape I donate or offer them on Freecycle .
:o ....but this time I found these leather boots I had bought in the early 90s and not worn for years:

 ...just straight cylinders from the foot to the knee, no curves and that type of heel was a healthy hazard. I am all for donating but these old hideous boots I had put deep into the regular garbage bag full of yucky trash (dirt, napkins, old spagetti, tissues...). I love shoes and boots but this pair I had tossed with a big grin in my face. Hahaha.... I think I did a very good job?

They dont look that bad! Maybe they will come back in fashion!! My daughter just bought some vicious pointy toe shoes like they had in the fifties!

And here I was admiring a very similar pair at Selfridges in London last weekend - but at 235 pounds thought it a bit ridiculous.
Methinks e-bay would have been a good place for them!

Yeah i'm not all about how straight those were! but who knows, look at some of the styles in fashion right now! so many things coming back but I'm totally out now... with all this new stuff I just can't keep up and neither can my debit card!
I never had any real positive results with posting things on freecycle :(

I remember those kinds of boots from the late 80s early 90s fashion. They had nooooo shape, REALLY awful, hideous bad 80s style  ....
I agree with you the straightness of the upper boot makes me look more like an elephant than a gazelle

I dunno, some of us have 'cankles,' you know, LOL. Us orc-feeted- elephant ankled women need the straight boots for our feet that have no figure! LOL!
I just like boots, I defintely agree that the ones nowdays with some ankle curve are much prettier, but I think this type boot would probably 'fit' me better. Although, I have some boots similar to what Vallie described...I wonder if Sarah got hers at Hot Topic too???
they look good to me, lol! I may need them if I put on any more weight :( Last time I was this heavy I couldn't zip my boots up over my calves since the top is the same no matter what your shoe size! One size does NOT fit all! They finally ripped (at the ankle, not 'cause they were straining over my recurring ample calves), so I'll spare myself the embarrassment of being unable to zip them up this winter. So since the 80s are coming back I'll keep my eye out for your boots at my local thrift shop!!!

Oh Emma!! Over here we have any expression for all the lumpy flesh that hangs over tight hipster jeans "muffin tops" so maybe your boots could fit in this category!
