Okay this weeks Scrapalicious challenge is a little different. We will be using the Joey-Bear (http://store.digitalscrapbookplace.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=4672) page kit. If you weren't already aware this kit was made in memory of little Joseph Edward Luce, or as we know him, Joey-Bear (MommySpice's son) So to honor this sweet little angel's memory we will be scrapping his pictures for a Joey-Bear album! There are tons of Joey pictures to choose from. There are 5 pages of albums, and on those are several "Joey Albums" You can get to the albums here (http://chrisandkara.com/Coppermine/index.php?cat=10001&page=2). Kara said these pictures would work fine, but if you would like a larger high-rez photo just send a pm to mommyspice. Layout need to be placed in my gallery (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=3402) by midnight on Wednesday, January 17! I look forward to seeing these!!

I love this challenge and the Joey Bear kit is such a sweet kit for spicey's darling angel. Thanks Amber and Spicey for letting us put together a special album for your little one.

This is a great idea! I love these "community album" ideas (and great kit too, Amber!). I really want to participate...but I have a couple of other projects (non-DSP related) that I must finish...so I'm not sure I could do it by the 13th but I will try.

Questions: How will we know what photos others are using so we avoid duplicates? What about journaling - - should we contact MommySpice for it or should we leave a space for it or will there be none? What about fonts - are one or two fonts going to be chose to ensure consistency? And what size and resolution should our pages be?

Sorry if all these questions were already covered in the chat. I wasn't there so I'm clueless!

Tara...there are thousands to choose from, so I'm not sure you'll be duplicating, but I suppose it could happen. How about you send a PM to me about which photo you choose. Then I can tell you if someone else chose it.

You can also contact me for journaling...or if you'd like, another way to find photos WITH the original journaling is to go to archive.joey-bear.com (http://archive.joey-bear.com) and pick photos from there. This is our blog...the first page is entries from before Joey was born, but at the bottom if you keep clicking through "previous entries", you can read through the entire two months. A lot of the entries have photos with them and there are links to the other photos as well. If you happen to like a journal entry that doesn't have the photos attached (occasionally we were too tired), you can find the photos in the album (Amber's link) for that day. There is only one day we did not take pictures of Joey, and it is mentioned in the journaling. Also, it is okay if you use pictures that I have already used, as this is going to be a different scrapbook than the one I am making. I plan on posting this on Joey's new website, as well as giving copies to some of the people who helped us get through those two months and beyond - his nurses, his doctors, some of the people in our church who visited constantly, etc.

As for fonts...I think it will be tied together enough with everyone using the same kit. I don't think it needs to be a specific font. I think when I print it, I'll do 8 x 8s...but scrap it 12 x 12 and then I can resize when I'm ready to print.

How's that for a nice long book? *lol* sorry, I can be a bit long-winded.

I just noticed this post and read the story of Joey-Bear! What a wonderful thing, to have all these talented people scrapping!! I will try to get a page in soon and hope to do him justice. I myself had a premie and at 5lbs 6oz he too was considered "big" for his birth age. When they told me he had problems with his lungs and they were giving him only a 30% chance to live, I wanted to smake that Dr.! I didn't... and I didn't belive him! Before we got to take him home he had 10 x-rays, 3 blood transfusions,and gone from a hood over his whole head to a tube directly into his lungs to help him breathe. I left the hospital with my baby boy weighing 3lbs 15oz. and vowed he would not be back! My heart goes out to you and your family, thank you for sharing Joey's story with us!

Let me know if you need a story to go with a particular photo...I could spend hours and hours talking about Joey. Just today, we visited his grave, and I saw the verse we had inscribed on it.."How blessed is Joey, whom You chose" adapted from Psalm 65:4. I was thinking that I need to make a layout incorporating that! So if someone wants to use that...feel free!!!
