I do not use PS or PSE. I use Digital Image Pro which is very similar to PS and PSE - does most all the same things but a little easier learning curve. I do have PS 5.5 though. My questions is this -----

I have some really cool (freebie) QP's that are not transparent. You have to kinda fit the picture into the white space and if there is a ribbon or some element overlapping the white space then its covered up by the picture. I have taken a QP into DIP and tried to remove the white space but I can't remove it. I think the layers have to be unlocked or something. DIP does support transparent Png files. I haven't tried to remove the white space in PS yet as the layers in PS confuse me to pieces!

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi

you do need the background on a separate layer in order to do what you want.
If it is, then (I only know PS so I hope yours is close) click on the eyeball that is near the background layer to make it transparent. Now flatten all layers EXCEPT the background layer, and just save as a .png

now when you drag it in into another image, the background will be transparent.

I hope this answers your question

cheers
