HOLY CANOLI!!! How do we TOP last week's challenge - I gotta tell you, I am totally DRAINED!!!!!!!!!!!!
So. This week's challenge is to explore the OPPOSITE of blank canvases!!!! Create a layout using as many elements, doodles, space-fillers, photos, journaling (WHATEVER you can cram onto a page) as you can!!! You think of it, you slap it on there!!! Pay attention to symbolism and meaning on one hand, and on the other hand, balance.
If you wish to receive a posting bonus, you will need to use the Trendy Spaces Quick Click (http://store.digitalscrapbookplace.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_137_136_139&products_id=4736)as a starter-template, but be sure not to stop with just the template!!!! :) :) :)

I have no clue how we're going to top our last challenge - seriously, it was incredible!!! So, prove me wrong and show me you can do it all AGAIN!!!! Go for those HOLY COW WOW layouts, and let's see even more of our Fandango crew reach the Hall of Fame!!!
Posting bonus preview will be available as soon as I can do the sample!!! :) :)
MWAHHHHHHHH, my dancing partners... my MUSES!!!! Keep on STRETCHING!!!

01-16-2007, 11:02 AM
Oh this is great, and this will definately be a challenge for me, since I like very simple layouts without much clutter, but that is what fandango is all about. I am up for the challenge.
Jill W
01-16-2007, 11:06 AM
Wow - I think this is going to be much more difficult (at least for me) than the 1st fandango was!!! I thought I had an idea of what I was going to do, but now I'm not so sure!!
GREAT challenge Suzanne!

This sounds like fun, I just need to make sure I do it in time and save, save, save my LO. For those of you that don't know what I'm talking about, I worked on a LO for several hours was putting the finishing touches on it and then you guessed it, deleted the whole thing. I was so upset, not that I thought I would win but to work so hard on something and then see it disappear in a flash. I'm going to try this again, good luck to everyone, have fun and remember to SAVE,SAVE, SAVE your LO at least every half hour or so!
Jill W

 remember to SAVE,SAVE, SAVE your LO
Right on!! ... I use PSPX and when using Quick Clicks it tends to lock up and then shut down -- so I save save save after just about every step!!

Is it 'okay' if we resize some of the shapes when using the quick click?
....I suppose there's really "no rules" (?) but wanted to check -- thank you!!!

I had Suzanne's challenge in mind when I did this LO but I've not used the quickclick and I don't even know if it's really fandango but I have used tons of elements on the page. Anyway, I just left in my gallery 'cos I don't know if it really fits here but if anyone wants to take a peek and give me some feedback it would be welcome.

Ok, here is my attempt at this weeks challange. and it sure was a challange. I am not used to putting so much "stuff" in a layout... CC is not only welcome, it is greatly appreciated!! I think I like it, but I am not really sure... while it is busy, I hope it doesn't look too cluttered??

I have to ask how do you guys keep up with what you use??? I go to grab something and sometimes there is no info in the folder, proboly from when I first started and didnt know any better. But I want to use it....and then even if I have the little info sheet what is the best way to keep track of what you do to the LO for DET for instance I just keep messing with stuff till it looks right LOL HEY........... Never said I was a pro LOL:think:

LOL, Dazzedd, that is a question for the ages!!! There is some really great info on organizing in one of the forums, I think - let me go see if I can find it! :)
zzeno36
01-21-2007, 01:15 PM
I keep my stuff in a folder on an external hard drive. Everytime I get anything new, I add it in a sub-folder and give it a prefix I will recognize and is easy to organize (Templates-Word Art-Overlays). I have a separate folder for all the Christmas stuff, with sub-folders. And I always use the Thumbnails view so you can see whatever is in the folder.

I create a text layer in my Photoshop document at the beginning of working on it and whenever I bring in an element I immediately add the credits to that text layer. When I'm done, if I decided not to use some elements, I delete those references. Then I can just copy and past the text into my DSP upload.
In the terms of use notepad that comes with each kit I add the link to the DSP store & the keyword # so that is always handy to add to my Photoshop credits document. Here is an example of what the Photoshop credits text layer looks like. I can just hide that layer whenever I want too.

Regarding organizing, I keep the kits, etc. in alphabetical order. I rename the preview thumbnails also alphabetical & include the designers name in the thumbnail file name. Then I make copies of the preview thumbnails to keep in a subject file (like the index cards at a library). Some example subjects are designers, colors, romance, heritage, nature, flowers, doodles, etc.

Here is how you link in here: go to your gallery and click on the layout you are going to link, copy the url, and paste it here in the forum.
