Heyyyyy I was wondering is there not a way for you ""artist types"" to name your stuff so that when you pull up properties it would say who made it???
I am just looking for some magic here I know LOLOLOLOL....sorry I just want to give proper credit and it is hard. Or is it just ME

That link doesn't work for me? and RE proper credit..I just check the TOU and that gives me where I got the kit from and who made it.

right before downloading I add the designers name at the end of the zip file. each designer has her own file in my DSP file. it really helps.

I name all my folders when I unzip
Place_designer_file name so for Suzanne's stuff it would be DSP_05_filename.
I have a text file just in case I forget who the abbreviations stand for but I have all the DSP designer numbers well memorised. LOL!

Suzanne...that link didn't open anything for me either. Actually it did open to another page, but it said that there were no matches.

Also...what do you all do about organizing brushes? It's hard for me to know who's brushes I'm using after I load them. Any suggestions?

I put the designers name at the beginning of the file name just like I do anything else. I find a lot of people save their files that way anyway. For instance I recently downloaded some from easy elements they are all easy_elements_brushname.abr so I can see this in PSE and know who made the group I'm looking at.

For those wanting to know about designer names being on the file - each file is named with the designers number. Like my kit would be 63_K_PageKit. Here's a list of the designer numbers:

HTH!

I keep all of my files in separate files ... complete kits ... stamps ... frames, etc. and in addition I have an Excel spreadsheet that I update each time I download a kit ... Columns are as follows (left to right) -
Name of Kit - dsp # - kit - add on - elements - frames - doodles - stamps, etc. ... Designer - neutrals - pastels - reds/pinks - blues/purples - greens - yellows/oranges, etc. etc. I think just "X" in which ever column the kit reflects - that way when I need something I can just sort the spreadsheet by whatever it is I'm looking for ... for example -- looking for something with pinks ... or looking for something with stamps, etc.

Clear as mud? (LOL).

Clicked on the thread link but didn't go to it?? Also wondered if there is a Fandango every week or is it once a month?
Thanks

Thanks for that list of numbers. I think I will reorganize all my files this weekend. Using the #s makes the file names so much smaller. Right now, I have everything named as: type - filename - DSP - designer (ex: Quick Click - Hooped - DSP - Jamie Rousselle). The file names get extremely long. Shortening them to use designer numbers and codes is going to be so much nicer. And I'll keep the text file handy with all the abbreviations so I know who made it. I think I will do that with my non-DSP stuff too and just make my own number system.

I use subfolders to keep track. I have a 'digi kits' folder, with a DSP folder in it, with folders for each designer in it, with the actual kits in them. i use ACDSee for organizing. When I have it search for blue ribbons I can click on the ribbon I like & see from the adddress string that it is E:\MyScrapbook\digi kits\DSP\Valeri Brumfield\Buttons & Blue. I use ACDSee to find things & to keep track of the stuff i am using in my current layout.

The latest version of abrViewer (http://sourceforge.net/projects/abrviewer) will allow you to organise brushes by whatever keywords you like..

Thanks to some of the girls at SBB there is the start of a helpfile included with the setup packages, but if anyone has any problems, feel free to PM me...
