View Full Version : Chat 'n' Crop - Bosses are in Anaheim
Many of us can't be in Anaheim this next weekend -- but hey! We can have our own crop! Let's Party! We'll tally the requests for times for chatting and post them -- what time would you like to vote for?
Prizes? Incentives? Team "at home" will host online chats - watch the calendar and the forum for times.
There will be inspiration, incentives, and prizes! Join us for chats -- we'll pick the most requested times for Saturday (while many attend the crop in Anaheim) and for Sunday (while some visit Disneyland). If you have specific ideas, tell us about them! Post the time you would like to see a chat 'n' crop - please post this as EST (even if it's middle of the night Eastern Time).

If you have a sunday one, I could probably make it. Saturday is doubtful, since I'm going to be at the coast...which is part of the reason why I can't go to Anaheim. :( Unless the place we're at has internet access....hmmmm...

Just found this thread Pam after posting a request for a DSP online Wish-we-were-there Crop... Sigh - I must get more sleep and then I won't make these mistakes! But please count me in - as with Cathiemarie - being in South Africa we run about 6/7 hours ahead DSP (depending on Daylight Savings in the US) at the moment I think its about 7 hours ahead.
But it would be great to have a "home" crop.

Pam, perhaps we can start off with the 'DSP @ Home crop members' (those of us sadly eating chocolate in front of our PC's at home) making and displaying their DATC’s.
Here is Ann Maree's Thread (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6876) and explanation on DATC’s and gallery (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=1190)
And Here ( http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=153) are some other threads...

A ATC chat and crop for those of use left behind :( would be fun! Perhaps several chats at different times throughout the day if there were people to do it. I can't commit due to kids having many activities but if I'm here I'll come!

Saturday and Sunday nights would be great!! I am up for any challenge :)
Perhaps we can start off with the 'DSP @ Home crop members' (those of us sadly eating chocolate in front of our PC's at home) making and displaying their DATC’s. We sure can - many recently joined members may not have created a trading card and this would be a wonderful chance to do so! Such a fun way to get to know one another a bit better. We'll be the ones happily eating chocolate in front of our computers - with all the comforts of home (including what we wear to the chat!) Fun & informal.

Count me in. Pool tournament Sat., no telling how long it will last with double elimination, but if I'm back home I'll be here, and Sunday anytime. Will this actually be a part of the DATC group? And will we need to make a trading card to participate?
Sounds like fun! I will certainly try to be there! if at all possible.

It may be the perfect excuse for my Husband to watch the little one while I have some time to myself. I've been wanting to scrap all week and haven't found the time or energy.
I'm definitely up for making a new DATC. Mine seriously needs upgrading anyway. LOL! I'll keep my eyes peeled for what day and time is set up.

Sounds like a good plan Pam, which thread should we post to and which gallery should we post in?Suzanne began a thread here in the DSP in Anaheim Forum (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=21122) about creating a special font - be sure to check it out here and get to drawing! Challenges will be listed in the "Challenges (with deadlines or do not repeat) (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=289)" forum. There are galleries for these activities here (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=3930).
Chat times have tentatively been placed on the January calendar (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/calendar.php) for Saturday - please let me know if this accomodates time zones who want to attend. Chats will be different, as will incentives - and there will be one on Sunday as well.

If possible, would you also mind listing the chat times in a post.. I find the calendar really confusing to use cos it converts to my time zone which I find harder to understand than just manually converting to my time

grumble grumble grumble..... I have to WORK my menial labor job (well, sort of) this weekend, and cannot be around to share in the fun, BUT I have donated some goodies for prizes, and so have other designers who were chained at home this weekend! Keep your eyes on this forum!

Thanks to those who joined me for the first "Bosses Away" chat - 6:30 am DSP time - I so enjoyed spending the time chatting and learning more about the members who atended! Even if you didn't/couldn't attend, you can still create a digital Artist Trading Card (DATC) and place it in the gallery (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=3933) so we can collectively wave at those attending the Anaheim Crop - and even trade printable copies with each other if you want. There's information on DATC cards here (from AnnMaree) (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6876).
Don't forget to contribute for Suzanne's offer to create a font for us! Read about it here (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=21122)! Janet has a "Crop til you Drop" challenge (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/showthread.php?p=240071), too!
Join us in the chat room at 2:30 pm DSP time for an inspiration crop, more chatter, and surprises!

But, I think I can be at the chat... we'll see!

Hope someone can help.. I'm a little confused about what are all the challenges for the Bosses Away Party.. How many are there? I know of (1) use the Sunshine Font (2) Crop till you drop (3) DATC. Someone mentioned a Sunshiney Summer LO too - is there any kit requirement? and are there other challenges besides these? Thanks!

Thanks Bebimora!!!
I'm confused too  , 3chickens. I know there was one to do using the wordart and BP that we got at the chat yesterday, to be uploaded to the While the bosses are away gallery. I think it was only for a DRAWING.
there was a challenge to use the Sunny Day Doodle font, and that is for a POSTING BONUS.
The one today is It's a small world, I think you can post anywhere, just link to the boss's away forum. It's also for a POSTING BONUS.
So I am also a little confused. But what's new?.....hehe

Well I only made it to half of the last chat, but it was fun listening in. Sounds like a lot of fun is going on over there. Hope we get to see more pics. Here's my DATC (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=3933). What a great idea! Hope I get to collect some along the way of scrapping here. I've loved many of the other ones I've seen!
Thanks to all who participated!

Items given at the chats were a bonus for attending - and the crops were intended to show the designers our appreciation by using them, as well as creating layouts for your albums. There were three prizes given at Chat 1 (first person who told me how old DSP is, the member in the chatroom who joined DSP the earliest, and the member in the chatroom who was the most recent DSP member of the group.
There will be prizes for the three members randomly drawn from the Chat 2 sunshiny layouts (for those who attended).
Anaheim drew a kit winner from chat 3 and we drew a winner for Anaheim (and everyone got Suzanne's Sunny Day font). (I offered a posting bonus to those using Suzanne's font and placing the layout in the gallery where the doodles were placed).
Suzanne's new font was also given out at chat 4 (01/28), and a challenge was posted in the forum to create a Small World layout for a posting bonus and be sure to place a link in that forum thread.
Janet also has a "crop 'til you drop" challenge and will draw for random winners as well as have winner/s. I think that should answer.
I'll be sending the prizes from Chat 1, and the posting bonuses out on Tuesday (1/30) - as well as doing the random drawing from the Sunshiny Memory layouts and/or DATCs in the Bosses Away DATC gallery.
Taken one at a time, it shouldn't be confusing.
Thanks so much to the designers who donated items for these chats - Suzanne, Bethy, Elisabeth, Tina, and Jamie. And thanks to the team members who joined us in the chat room to help with questions and chat.
