SUNSHINEY DAY - THE BOSSES ARE AWAY!!! Doodle Font FUN & FREEBIE!

Ready for some fun? Would you like to have YOUR doodles made into a font? We thought it would be a HOOT to create a Sunshiney Day doodle font, with doodles created by all of us. We might as well enjoy ourselves thoroughly as the rest of the DSP crew parties down in sunny Anaheim!

Simply doodle something that represents a "Sunshiney Day" to you. Use your tablet if you have one, or use a plain sheet of white paper and a black marker or pen, then scan your doodles at 300 dpi (black and white, jpg format is fine). Create a smaller version (at 72 dpi and less than 100KB) to upload to our SUNSHINEY DAY DOODLE GALLERY (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=3931), so we can see what all our friends are submitting!

Send the full-size version (please keep the files under 500KB if possible) to suzanne@dsplace.com, and your doodle will be a part of a very special SUNSHINEY DAY DOODLE FONT. This font will be given away at one (or maybe more!) of the super-fun Bosses Away chats which will occur on the same day that our DSP friends and Team Digital will be partying down in Anaheim at the DSP Laptop Crop.

Doodles must be entered (large copy emailed, and small sample uploaded) by no later than Saturday, January 27, at 1pm Eastern Time. We will accept the first 104 doodles entered, so please limit your entries to 2 doodles per entrant to allow all to participate! :)

Come see the entries already submitted in the DSP SUNSHINEY DAY DOODLE FONT FUN GALLERY! (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=3931)

Ok... I'm first... here's Sprinkler (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=160150&cat=3931) and Lawnmower (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=160151&cat=3931)

I need to doodle more often to improve my skills here. Feel free to use or not use as appropriate.

Well I gave up on the tablet - I can't draw at the best of time and it seemed to make things much harder. Pen, paper and a scanner worked just fine.

I actually ended up with a whole set of doodles but the two are liked best are these:
Starfish (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=160155&cat=3931)
Jellyfish (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=160154&cat=3931)

I mentioned I got carried away with my doodles...well... I turned them into a set of brushes and have decided to give them away as the posting bonus for January PS2 participants. (not sure if that will encourage or deter people :D )
If you want them just join in the PS2 art harmonies challenge (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18096)before the end of January.

No, just totally ignore me...... I have no clue what I'm talking about........ :) :)

REally, any size is great - as long as it's big enough to catch all the detail in the font itself. So... Maybe use 3x3 as a MINIMUM? :) Thank youuuuuuuu!

I have a question, can my doodle have grey in it or does it have to be strictly black and white?

It can be grey but I'll end up turning it pretty much to b/w to create the font character. Does that make sense? So, whatever you can do is probably fine as long as it's okay for me to make it into b/w for the font. :)

Frugal- first you have to upload your LO in the appropriate gallery- at the time of uploading, there is a long pull down list to choose from.
When you LO is safely uploaded, click on it to open it and copy the web address. You can just go to the main gallery and it should be the last one posted.
Go to the forum concerned (e.g. this one) and paste your link.
Hope this helps:)
