I was going through Mars' gallery and saw so many lovely layouts. The sketch she did for the sketch challenge caught my eye and I wanted to use it for this particular layout. If using her sketch does'nt qualify for a scraplift...oh darn...I guess I will have do do another one:)

Gabby...no you are not a dunce:) To scraplift means to use someone's layout as inspiration and create a layout of your own. You may like the colors, or the composition, or the kit, or whatever. There are really no rules EXCEPT it is polite and good etiquette to always give credit to anyone that you scraplift. If you follow exactly someone's layout you can say something like "This is a scraplit of MarsOlson's ABC layout". If you loosely follow a color scheme or an idea from someone's layout you might say "Layout inspired by..."

This was an interesting scraplift for me. As I get more "in" to this concept of scraplifting, I "see" more than just the physical layout. I start to notice the color combinations, the "feel", and other intangibles. That's what happened to me with this scraplift. Mars' colors "got" me - the black and purple. Mine ARE black and purple too, but they look SO DIFFERENT because of the colors in the photo. I am feeling like I will do a second page of this layout to lie across from this in the book I am making, because I like this SO MUCH.

Look through Mar's Gallery & find a layout that inspires you, then copy a little or alot of it.
