I am also a stamper, and I really like the look of sponged edges. What is the best way to get a sponged look with PSP? I tried several brushes and the blender tool to make my own overlay, but it did not turn out the way I wanted it to. Please help.
Sorry, I can't help you myself, but I've passed on your message so hopefully someone more knowledgeable will be able to :)

See if this tutorial is along the lines of what you are looking for:
Chalking Edges (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/university/tutorials/psp_chalkededges_vb.shtml). You might also try selecting the object, then using a fluffy (well, how do I describe it? hee hee, not a solid brush, a chalky one) to dab around the edge of your object.
I'd work on a second layer. If you work on the same layer, try your burn tool and see what effect you can get from that.
You might nose around the internet for spongy looking brushes, and failing all that, there are a lot of edgy overlays in the dsp store! Particularly check out Suzanne Walker's work.
Hope this helps!

Hi, there are some lovely overlays in the freebie gallery. I put this link to one set but there are heaps of others too.

Another option for PSP is masks - either ready made mask edges or create your own masks from an overlay. Since PSP brushes are small, you can create your sponged edge on a small square, create a mask from it and apply it to your full sized layout (experimenting with sizes til you get what you like).
I lke the 2 default Marble brushes to do this. Try the Brushes Palette tutorial in the tutorials section so you can play with the settings for a more random look. YOu'll need to alter the Jitter for rotation and increase the step, but have a play! The DSU 130 and 241 classes also have some great brushing and masking techniques in them. Gettin gcomfortable with the brush tool is fun (like finger painting), and very useful!
