Comment Challenge for February

Well folks, another month is here, are you up for another round of comment challenge? I thought I'd add a little twist this month, just to keep us on our toes. How about adding a goal to your commenting? Check out your current posts, and post in this thread what your current number is, and the goal you'd like to reach. An additional 200, 500, 1000...whatever you'd like! I'll do a random drawing from among those who reach their goal, and that person will win the item of their choosing from my store items.

The rules are the same, just post a comment in this thread when you've been commenting on layouts, as many times a day as you like. You may also post once a day to nominate someone (or someones LOL). There will be random prizes given throughout the month, and the grand prizes at the end. All right, happy commenting!!!:clap:

I have commented on hungry layouts and random comments in the gallery. My goal will be to reach 3000 by the end of February. I'm at 2749 right now. I went to my gallery and clicked on my name. It tells you how many comments I made.

I'm sorry, I should have included how to check your numbers! :) If you go to the upper left of the page, to "Quick Links" and go to "My Profile" you will see the "total posts" number. If you go by way of the gallery, and click on your name, that is actually the number of posts you've received on your layouts, not what you've made on others' layouts. (I asked Amanda this to be sure.) Does this help? :)

GabbyGee, once a day you can nominate someone (or more than one someone, as long as it's in one post) that you feel deserves to stand out for their special comments, either on one of your layouts or something you've seen on someone else's layout. :)

Hello everybody, I just found this thread and I'd like to join in. I wish I had seen this yesterday, I commented on several LO and posted a few times.I'm saying this because I'm also a newbie and need all the help I can get. I have 201 posts todate and I'll say that I can get it to 275. While I'm making goals I think I should take this opportunity to make a goal regarding LO's. I am a real newbie to scrapbooking. To date I have only 9 LO's posted. some of those are duplicates but they are my total of digital LO's ever made. I did make a few paper LO's but not many. So I think before the end of the month I will get to 14. I have to put a disclaimer on both of these numbers. They apply only if we do not get called out of town to work the Florida storm. My husband is an insurance adjuster and we might be going out of town. While we need to work I do really hope I make my goals!

Hi all fellow comment taters, borrowed/stole that from June!!

I have made 60 comments since this time last night (so neat to be able to chack that now, thanks Becky for the heads up!!) & completed 2 layouts today plus spending an hour getting the oil changed in my car & waiting 1 1/2 hours at the hospital to get an injection in my knee, not bad for such a disorganized person, lol ( Oh.....& I did feed DH twice as well as Stormy!!!)

Off to comment on a few more NKOTB layouts, wow wish I was that good when I was doing NKOTB!!!

I've been commenting on layouts in the gallery, NKOTB, and hungry layouts. I found out that I looked at the wrong number so I went to my profile which now says I have 4106 posts so I will shoot for 4300 by the end of Feb. I didn't realize I had so many!

I'd like to nominate Jestep for her comments. I love when she comments on my layouts and I love to read what she writes on other people's layouts. She inspires me to be more personal with my comments and not just say a general comment.

My first goal was to make 387 comments to reach 5000. My second goal was to reach 5500 I have made 912 comments this month including this one to reach both the goals I set.

There is lots of month left so I might as well make a third goal. My goal now is to make another 88 posts this month. I know it's not many more but that would give me 5613 posts for a grand total of 1000 posts for the month!

Same here, I type and delete, read it, decide it's silly type and delete, etc. Just think I could have twice as many comments, I spend way too much time deleting. Then I remind myself, every comment I receive on a layout is a positive thing and I am not critical of them at all. I'm just happy to receive, I'm also happy to give, but feel comment challenged.

Oh my gosh, I am way past one of my goals and didn't even realize it. :clap: :yahoo: :tup: My goal was to reach 275 posts and I am at 296 including this post:yahoo: :yahoo: And drumroll please, I uploaded my 15th LO last night!! I did this while laying flat on my back because of severe back pain,:clap: :clap: Two of my LO's are duplicates but my goal was to reach 14, so I reached both goals. This is so exciting. I usually take about a week to complete a LO because of how many times I redo it. Because of trying to reach my goal I decided that I was going to quit second guessing myself and just finish a LO. I was able to complete 3 LO's this week.

I am thankful for this challenge, it has honestly made me re-think my whole process and approach to completing a LO. I will now just have fun and not worry about what everyone else thinks about my LO or if I've made an artistic error of some kind.

Since I'm on a roll, I think I will do one more LO to really finish 15 LO and not have a duplicate. While I'm at it it will increase the posting goal to 325! :yes: :yes: I can do it :tup: :tup:

I'm a newbie and really confused about the finding of your postings. If I understand this right - if you click on your personal PROFILE this tells you how many postings YOU YOURSELF have made and gives you the average per day. If, however, you click on your own name in your gallery you get a count of the number of postings OTHERS have made on your LOs - it gives a list of the "Number of photos" you've uploaded to date, the "Number of comments" they've received and "Number of times photos viewed" it goes on to say disk spaced used and so on.
Am I right in thinking that the aim of this challenge is to increase OUR postings on others' LOs?
And whilst 'doing the feeding' do we take note of others' postings and LOs and nominate an outstanding poster of comments or LO creator?
Also, is the February challenge finished now because I notice that Loonyhiker has earned the well-deserved prize?

Monica you are correct about the numbers, you want to increase the number of Posts that show up under your name. Yes nominate someone that comments on your layouts. The February challenge runs until the end of the month but there are random prizes through the month and a grand prize at the end. Hope that helps.

I reached both of my goals!! I downloaded another LO but the number count shows only 13 and if you go to the gallery you can clearly count 15. I have 336 posts counting this one so I have finished and reached both goals, Yea!!!!! I don't understand the problem with the LO count but I know my number is correct. I'VE DONE IT :) 400 postings (well 403 actually, 404 with this one).
I have seen some really lovely creations on my tours and enjoyed looking closer and posting CCs. There are lots of nice people here - I've had some lovely thank yous for my comments.
As you can see I've added challenge links to my signature (did this yesterday) to encourage more participation - particularly for the newbies around. I always go and welcome any newbies so they'll see the links for sure. One lady (a fellow ATC enthusiast) I 'met' has now added her own links to promote the DATC challenge and the ATC gallery. It would be great if more of us promoted our challenges with links, don't you agree. I did try using pictures with the links but they took up too much space and were kicked out of my signature box. Bye now, I'm going to indulge in some scrapping for an hour or two! :) Mo

I love this challenge, because it gets me out there looking at such a variety of layouts and I've seen some techniques I'm going to have to try.

I just wanted to say that you all amaze me. Not only do you do layouts that are beautiful and inspiring, but you take the time to WRITE to each other. I just don't know how you do it. I haven't been around here that long (something like six weeks), and I have done A LOT of layouts.... but I still that that pales in comparison to the support the comments that are offered give. Thank you all..
