Does anybody use this program? I have the PixelMagic and I like it but, I want to be able to do a little more. I was wondering if you can edit pictures and recolor backgrounds and embellishements with it? Those are the two main things I want to do. Also, I would like to be able to convert to B&W and then recolor the photo, can it do this? Is it user friendly?

(I know I should probaby look at some of the other expensive programs but, i just don't have the $$ for them right now!)

Thanks!

I started with Scrapbook Factory Deluxe 3.0, but quickly got frustrated because it seems to constantly get "hung up" (freezes) on pages with lots of graphics and photos. It is fun and simple to use, as long as you keep your layouts simple. I upgraded to PSE 4.0 and have never looked back.

Good luck!

Thanks for the response. I just downloaded the free trial of Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0 today and have been playing around with it.

I have this but to be honest, I never put it on my computer! I have PSE and Creative Scrapbook assistant (which is super easy) and I think from all I've heard and personal use PSE is your best bet. Not sure about PSE5.

Thanks! I think I have decided to go with PSE5 after my 30 day trial. I'm glad I asked, I almost bought Scrapbook Factory this weekend.

My dil gave me PSE5 for Christmas. I have PSE3 but never used it that much.(I think it came with my Epson printer) I am a PSP user since version 8.(PSPX)
I really like the editor in 5 and the way you can apply tags so I do plan to learn to use it. One book I would recommend (sorry I need a book to go by)is Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0 Unleash the hidden performance of Elements by Marl Galer. It came with a dvd that walks you through the whole program assuming you know where the tools are located.The main thing I love about this book is it has pictures of what to do(you know steps) and is easy to understand.I bought my copy through Amazon. Just some info that is helping me learn this program, Like I said I need a book with pictures :-;

I bought it and I like it because its pretty easy to use and has some nice graphics which come with it but like everyone else said it gets frozen easily. Once you add soem pictures and some graphics it will freeze up. Ive found that it normally will unfreeze by itself but I bought PSP 11 and I absolutely love it. At first I had problems figuring it all out but once I read a little bit and messed around a little I have found it much easier to use and has alot more possibilities then the scrapbook factory. If I had it to do over I probably wouldnt buy it again but if its all you can afford then its not a bad program to use

Go with PSE 5. I had PSE 2, then 3 and am using 4 currently and love. 5 has a few more features which I'm sure you will love. There is a learning curve, but it has lots of great features.

Good choice! I felt hemmed in almost immediately with Scrapbook Factory. Switched to PSE and loved it! Harder to learn but SO much more satisfying. Would recommend Emma's DSU 160 -- great way to learn PSE. (Class is described at http://store.digitalscrapbookplace.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=4&products_id=364.)

I am learning PSP9 and now in the NKOTB9 contest. It's fun. I had bought Scrapbook Factory Deluxe to make a fast book from our Cruise for each of my Sisters. At that point I hadn't yet taken a class in PSP. I like it even better when I go back to it after PSP as it seems so easy, but I just bought it for that one project. I knew if I waited till I knew enough PSP they'd never get a memento of the vacation. And it got me started on designing some pages. It comes in handy for other things, too, like adding text to Creative Delights journaling boxes for paper scrapping, cuz adding text in that program is horrible. I thought it wouldn't really be that much different from one of those photo books, and it gave me more options.

My question is this: whenever I print a page in it, the bottom margin or more are off. Both in my Epson 1280 and my HT. Did anyone else have this problem? Do I have to use the full page settings on my printer? When I get done I will want to print them all out. Has anyone that used this program had this problem?

You will want to make sure the settings for your printer are the same as your program. So if you are doing a full 8.5x11 in your program then make sure your printer is borderless.

Hi, I used scrapbook factory on my pc, It depends what you want it for, It's possible to make beautiful pages and cards with it and really quick, the price is also great for the ammount of stuff like backgrounds, elements, alphabets etc that come with it. I wish it was available for mac i'd buy it like a shot.
