I'm on the market for a laminator. The more I look, the more options I find. Currently I need it to cover cards up to 4x6 in size. I've been making trips to the library & I think their machine uses 5 mil. Is that thicker than 3 mil?

Do I want "heat" or "no-heat"? Do I want pouches or cartridges?

I could spend up to $100 if its really worth it, however, if anyone knows of a great one in the $25 range, that seems more appropriate for my current projects.

I saw a cutter-laminator by Purple cows on their site & also a Xryon at Michaels. Both were around $25 but I'm wondering if they are "cheap".

Thanks in advance.

I've had good luck with Xyron. My brother-in-law uses his Xyron to laminate pretty much everything he uses in his classroom - and they stand up to a lot of (ab)use.

I use the Xyron, too, and really like it. I have the small one, I think it does up to 5.5" wide. Very simple to use and haven't had any problems so far. Good luck!
