FEb 2007 Digital Swaps Partner List! Post layouts here

Thank you to all of you for signing up this month. We have quite a list. :) I am happy to see everyone jumping in. This should be a fun month.

A few things to remember:
-Please PM your partner and exchange emails.
-Once you have PM'd each other, please email your partner your photo choices. Tell your partner what size layouts you scrap, if you like/dislike certain colors, if you plan to have journaling...be sure to include that.
-You have until the 28th of February (remember this month ends early) to complete your layouts. If you don't do a layout, you cannot sign up next month.
-Email your partner. Stay in touch.
-If you have a problem, or just need to discuss your layout, please feel free to PM me any time.
-I try to assign everyone a different partner every month. If you have received the same partner, or need to change partners for any reason, please pm me and let me know.
-If you do not receive a layout, please let me know. I will do all I can to make sure you get one.
-Be sure to send the full version to your partner in email.

-If you use DSP kits, PLEASE BE SURE TO CREDIT THE DESIGNERS.

-Also remember you may be partnered up with someone you isn't at the same skill level as you are. Remember this is just for fun and meant to be a learning experience. Be sure to leave comments to your layout.

yes, once you post your layout to the swaps gallery, you should send the big (printable) version to your partner.

Have you tried pm'ing her? She hasn't contacted you at all? I will send her a reminder pm and make sure she is okay. I hope she is. I guess it would be okay for you two to swap, but if you do hear from her, you will still be her partner, too. Maybe you should give her a few more days.

I had fun scrapping Jennifer's beautiful children. This is my first swap & I have to admit that the first photo I rec'd. just didn't speak to me. I played with a LO for awhile but was not satisfied with it at all. I e-mailed Jennifer, explaining that I couldn't get a feel for the photo she sent & asked if she would consider sending me a different photo or photos. She graciously sent me 3 or 4.

Immediately upon unzipping the photos, I was inspired! Am I the only one who has to "feel" a photo in order to do a LO that I'm satisfied with? :confused:

No, I'm the same way. Kudos to you for asking for another photo so you can do you your best! I'm thinking that maybe I should have sat this month out. We're in the middle of moving and I think my creativity was accidently packed :confused: I just had touble getting inspired....

It is okay to ask for different photos. I have had to do that from time to time. I'd rather ask for something different than force a layout to happen. :) You are all doing an amazing job this month. I love our gallery.

Quick Question: Since I was a newbie this month, and knew nothing of this...is it possible for me to sign up next month? I saw the rule that if you don't do one this month you can't sign up next month so I was just curious if that was for people who signed up and didn't, or for anyone. :) (I know probably a silly question lol)

you are more than welcome to sign up. That rule is in place to ensure everyone gets a layout. It is only for those who have signed up. I do hope to see you in March. :)

There are only 5 days left of this month. If you have not been in contact with your partners, please do so. I don't want to see any one left out. Swaps are meant to be fun. :) Let's all try to keep it that way. :)

Have you gotten her emails? She sent me the ones she has sent to you. She is trying to contact you several times. You might try checking your spam box or maybe you two can meet up on hello and share photos. Both of you still have plenty of time to do layouts.

I made the papers and the elements ... so much easier than trying to figure out who the designer is for kits I have in my messy hard-drive (though...I'm working on getting that all sorted out! ... just need a few more blizzards and I'll have it all whipped into shape ... of course it would help if the power lines wouldn't go down... right now there are over 10,000 folks in our fine state with no power...I'm happy our power was only out temporarily!) Here is what I just posted about the layout that MammaPanda did for me:

Ok, I think I am composed enough to put my feelings down on 'paper' about this layout. MammaPanda and I didn't know each other at all before this challenge, yet she has designed a layout that looks, feels, smells, tastes JUST LIKE ME - my STYLE. Just like I would have done if I was capable of doing some of these techiques.

She also took a REALLY CRAPPY PICTURE and a MODERATELY CRAPPY PICTURE, and made them look fantabulous. I don't know how she did it but she did. So she improved on the QUALITY of what I gave her.

She THEMED my layout by taking the focus of my journaling ( the passage of time) and worked that in as the main theme of the layout.

And she made me FEEL. Really really STRONG feelings. And I am sure that THAT reaction would only come from me because these are MY kids and these are MY memories. Nevertheless, the whole design helped those feelings surface.

Scrapbooking, and especially scrapbooking for others, is SO MUCH MORE than just putting pictures, and words, and elements together. Sometimes it's about building up lives, too.
