After attending Lauren Bavins computer craft chat and receiving yet another great template - Im keen to make my own calenders!

My question is for anyone who has a binding machine - will they bind 12 pages that have been laminated? (eg calendar)Im looking at buying a binding machine and this was something i was wondering about

Is there a transcript of this chat? I would love to know more about this.

I bought a GBC DocuBind (http://www.docubind.com/) “Personal” binder last year at an office store for under $50. They have a catalog that can be downloaded from their site, but haven’t looked at it yet. I did a search on the Internet using “Docubind Personal” and there is info - PC World showed it for about $69 at Office Max. My box says it will punch up to 6 sheets at a time -- I did card stock, so think laminated would be fine - probably a couple at a time. It punches the holes, then the binder can be placed into it and it says it will bind documents up to 90 pages. I bought some 1/4” combs, since my calendars were only 13 sheets of cardstock - but there are the regular sized combs as well. But there are larger binders - my main reason was for calendars - in years past I had punched holes and used a couple of small plastic rings (craft store).

It would depend on what kind of binding you want to do.... I have the roladisk system and you could definately get 12 pages done but you would want to do them a few at a time. I also have a comb binding system that I bought at our company garage sale... that one will do alot of pages at a time! :D
If you don't think you are going to be doing this all the time you may want to look into stores like Kinkos or office supply stores that can do this service for you since binding machines can be expensive depending on the type.

I paid $49 on sale for my roladisk binding machine and then the disk are about $4-10 depending on size. I have seen the personal comb binders and I believe they were about the same price. I saw them at a rubber stamp show so I don't know where to tell you to look for them... the regular size comb binding machines and the spiral binders are in the hundreds of dollars range (I think).

I have a Rollabind, a spriral binder and a coil binder...any of which can bind 12 pages. the thickness of all the pages determines just what size disks, spirals or coils that you buy. The bigger they are, the more sheets they will hold.
