Ok - I think I know how I want to go with my article - but could y'all answer a poll for me? I want to know the top reason that you DIGITAL scrap. What is it that makes it so appealing?? I know MY reasons - but it's not a very good article if I don't try to get the reasons others do this. I know that there are threads out there that talk about why to scrap etc....but I honestly do not have time to search them all out. Thanks everyone!!!

Can you please add the option of "all of the above" LOLOLOLOL

I can't say it is one particular thing, but the very FIRST reason why I started was because with little kids it is very difficult to paper scrap. This way I could start a LO (with no mess around me) click save even if I only got the paper on the page and go back to it whenever even for 5 minutes without getting tons of stuff out! After that all of the above came into play! Now I just use my paper supplies for card making which I am loving as well :)

You should be able to check more than one answer in this poll...I told it to allow it :)

Thank you so much for sharing with me, Corgi. :) I had completely forgotten to add the "less mess" reason lol.

For those who have reasons other than those listed, please feel free to post that here. I was just trying to think of some of the top reasons people might like digital. :)

THANK YOU AGAIN!!!!!!! (you have no idea how much I appreciate this!!) :)

My reason is the same as Corgi, except my problem was cats trying to "help" with paper scrapping! Okay - sometimes they still try to sit on the keyboard, but that's easier to deal with! :)

I started digital scrapping because I spend all my time on the computer anyway, and since I had PS for webwork it just made sense.

There's also a lot to be said about not having to get out all the supplies, and either put them away (ha!) or have a permanent place for them.

I tried many years ago to paper scrapbook and after the mess and all the shopping, I never could commit to any LO. Frankly, though, not only is it so easy to sit on the couch, infront of the TV and create LOs while relaxing at night but if I have a photo I want to scrap, I don't have to wait until I get the opportunity to go out shopping for papers and materia,l but can sit on my butt and shop online and volia, I find the kit, order it and have everything I need to put together my LO right away. That and the added creativity I find makes digital scrapbooking outright awesome.

I can't add to that!

I've been paper scrapping for 4 years now and love it. But this digital thing has really gotten me hooked. I'm kind of a messy scrapper, so if I cut too much of this or add too much chalk to that then I'm just doomed. But with digital, I've got the power of the magical undo botton :yahoo:  :love2:

You need a "makes less mess/no tidying up" option!

If I could figure out how to edit the poll I sure would :) I just can't seem to figure that out :)

I checked a number of reasons and wanted to add that I also love the ability to print multiple copies of my pages for different albums. When I create a page for our family book, I then print copies (with a slight change in journaling) to put into my boys books. My friends who paper scrap cannot do this. They have to actually create another page and get more copies of their pictures.

That's a really good point shadow. :) I'm so excited about this article. I've got the rough draft written, but I'm refining it....once I've gotten it refined...I'll post it here so you all can see what you helped with. It won't be the FULL version because my teacher only wants about half the word count I need to have, but it will be a good start. :)

Again....Thank you ALL so much!!!! :D

All of the above. I used to be a paper scrapper. Since I've started, I've yet to dig out any paper stuff. I love that I can sit here and scrap while the kids play, but they can't get into anything and mess it up. I can click save, get up get lunch, come back to it. And I love that I can play with things. Move them around, try different sizes. And if I don't like it? No biggie. I haven't wasted any paper or elements. I can just go back and try it again. I've only used time.

This is a very much condensed version of the article/essay that I want to do. We had to stay within a very limited wordcount so I had to cut out some of what I was writing to make it fit the assignment we were given. However, here is what I'm turning in, at this point. Let me know what you think....if you have suggestions, please let me know...I've very open to suggestions :) Please keep in mind though that this is NOT the completed version. :)

Thank you again for all your help :)

edit the poll under Thread Tools>Edit Poll...but that may just be because I'm a mod: let me know if you don't have that option

I agree, the less mess is my main reason, so I chose portability to reflect that! Cheaper too, since I can make all my own stuff, or faster if I use others' graphics.

What a fun project!
