You can bring them if you want, but they are not necessary. The classes will demo the software and you will take home a CD with a trial of PSE 5.0 and notes :)

I just signed up for the Saturday crop :) It's the only one I can make. I'm looking forward to meeting everybody!

Can anyone tell me how much the print station will cost to use? Any other expenses I should plan on? Do we bring our own dinner? Errr this is my first crop, digi or non, if you hadn't guessed.

I have a laptop, no problem. BUT will extra outlets be provided for periphery equipment? I keep all my digi scrap stuff on an external hard drive so I'd like to just tote that guy along as well. Thanks in advance for any tips and answers!

Glad you can make in Jenn! I think that the print station will be free, but I'm not positive. Not sure on dinner, but you can email GASC with questions. I'm pretty sure there will be plenty of outlets :)

Hi Jenn-they have concession stands at the convention center-you know hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, popcorn, etc. In the past people have even gotten together and had pizza delivered right to the crop!

Margie

Bocca, I won't be going to this one, but..... I took my laptop to Anaheim and didn't get squat done on it. I had the BEST time, though, meeting people, eating chocolate, etc. I'm really not sure a laptop is necessary for the DSP crop!!!

Scamp, when we were in Anaheim, we all just "knew" each other. I was so excited to learn that the "grannies" were just like I thought they would be. Anyone who walked into that meeting room at the Convention Center would never have guessed in a million years that most of these people were "meeting" for the first time. We had some people there who were brand new to DSP and they couldn't believe how friendly everyone was. Some of the other RGCers and I are actually flying to Las Vegas in September because we had such a total blast in Anaheim.

BTW, did I mention that I REALLY had fun in Anaheim? :yahoo:

Do you have to have a laptop to be able to go. I live just south of Arlington and would love to go and learn more, but I don't have a laptop

Emma
05-28-2007, 11:28 PM
no, you don't need a laptop. I'm sure none of us will get much scrapping done! It's more a time to hang out and swap ideas, so you'll be able to learn a lot from any demos or just working and watching others. Will see you there! I am pulling triple duty on Thu, Fri, and Saturday just 'cause I can't stand the thought of missing anyone!!! I couldn't do all day Wednesday, so no one go to that one, k? LOL!

Where is the DSP booth? My sister is going to be there, and I'm going to insist that she say hello to y'all. (She's one of those people, though, who says that digital is pretend! The shock of it all!)

Margie
06-06-2007, 10:37 PM
we don't have a booth, we're just doing the crops and teaching classes. we'll have all our cds and software at the crops. tell her to look for the dsp classes and crops though and find people before or after!

After making two trips to Arkansas from Austin in the last two weeks (the last one unexpected and exhausting!) there is just no way I can drive to Arlington tomorrow!

I am muy disappointed, but I sure hope DSP comes back to Texas soon! Maybe San Antonio? Or even Austin?

I hope that everyone who is in Arlington has a super great time!

This is all very new to me. I keep going back and forth whether I am going to go tomorrow. Can anyone tell me the difference between:

Digital Scrapbooking 101 from 8-10am
and
Digital Scrapbooking for Beginners from 9:30-10:30am

If I do decide to go I'm not sure which one I should go to. And do they still have spots left. I would hate to go there and not be able to get in.

Thank you,

Cindy

Digital Scrapbooking 101 from 8-10am is being taught by Digital Scrapbook Place's Amanda Behrmann. This class has spots left.

http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/company/designers/amandabehrmann.shtml

Digital Scrapbooking for Beginners from 9:30-10:30am is being taught by someone from Epson. I do not know if this class has spots left (but I think they do).

Although both classes are designed for beginners, the 101 class will probably cover more material and go at a slower pace than the other class because it is 2 hours long (compared to the other class which is only 1 hour).

Amanda
06-08-2007, 10:52 PM
Cindy,
I would love to have you in class tomorrow! Please come! Epson's class is taught more from a hardware perspective - the 101 class is taught from a digital scrapbooking perspective. Hope to see you there. Please introduce yourself to me if you come!

Well I just loaded the last page kit onto my jump drive ;) I'm set. See you guys tomorrow for the evening crop. I even dragged my poor mum into this, LOL. She has no idea what she's getting into but I tempted her with a pretty blue & white floral kit purchased just for her. She caved instantly...

well....
I was at the GASC Wed-Sat night
WHAT FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was so excited to meet all of you who came!!! Melinda's friend brought me to tears with her layout and well that layout won the Story telling award!!
I was in awe at how all the newbies were just picking up on it so quickly. We made new friends and bonded with the old ones. and of course no crop would be complete without entertainment so "Mr Schrappy" (say with a drunk voice) came and joined us...I don't think Amanda ever laughed so hard in her life!!! It was FUNNY!

The classes were wonderful. It was my first time to ever SEE Amanda teach...she is GOOD!!!

Put it this way...she taught the first class on Saturday and they were so impressed with the class and her teaching that A LOT of them went and signed up for the second one!!!

Amanda and I didn't get much sleep... We had classes in the AM and crops everynight till Midnight..then pack up, load up and drive back to hotel. so only a couple hours sleep at night then we HAD to grab a couple hours in the middle of the afternoon. Even with the lack of sleep i would do it again!!! It was so fun!!!

Emma
06-11-2007, 02:31 PM
phew, I made it there and back, and it was so nice to meet everyone who was there! I did the Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night crops, got only 3 layouts done and ate waaaay tooo much chocolate :p
Can't wait for the next one. I had to bring my baby to this one, so while I got to sleep later (she got me out of class duty), no naps, AND I drove home Saturday night! I didn't get back to Austin until 6:15am, but she did sleep the whole way...about an hour outside of Arlington I really felt like "Mr. Shcrappy" myself!

If you get the chance to sign up for any of the upcoming events, you'll be so glad you did!

Amanda

I took your class on Friday morning and loved it! I came home Friday night and signed up for an Intro to PSE class for July and downloaded several kits. I am really going to try this! I hope you will consider coming to Rockwall to teach a class. Gotta Scrap is our local shop and I will talk with them if you like to see when would be a good time.

Thanks again for starting me on my newest obsession!

Now that I have downloaded these files, could some of you give me input as to how and where to store them? Would it be better to store them on the extra hard drive that I have than to take up space on my notebook? Is there a secret to how to file the kits so they are easy to recognize?

Amanda

I'm so glad you enjoyed the class! There are lots of tutorials in our Campus section that talk about organizing and downloading. Also search the forums. Lots of info there as well!
