Howdy all you talented ladies & gents.

I need some inspiration...I have a bunch of kits with paint color sample elements in them. You know what I mean the strip of paper that has 3 or 4 samples of color on it?

I can't think of a way I'd use this in a layout. Thought maybe y'all could give me some inspiration! Post your layouts in this forum thread.

Also if you don't have a layout to share just give me some ideas...HOW DO YOU USE THEM??? Do you just use them in kiddy layouts or fun layouts...do you use them in serious adult or heritage layouts

THANKS A BUNCH!!!!!

Do you have some samples to show us or are you looking to see what we have done with some of the paintchips we have??? Here is a link to how I used paintchips on a layout.... http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=16653&password=&sort=2&cat=500&page=1

Hope this helps.

I've seen people make tags out of them, use them as borders, letter tiles, etc. I have never tried using them, either!

lisa that is a terrific way to use them....to answer your question I'm just wondering how you use them and in what different ways people use them. I don't really have any examples...just wondering.

Okay the next 3 people to post a new layout into the gallery and link it here will win a free word art pack from the DSP Store.

I'm looking for layouts using paint chips or paint strips ......you know those things you pick up at the home depot???

Okay post away!!! Lets see 'em

My thoughts are that paint strips are included with kits so you can colorize items you make yourself (ribbons, frames, elements) to match the colors of the kit (the same with adding text). I've also seen where scrappers have used the dropper tool to select colors from a photograph (maybe of a flower) and then use those colors for their background and elements. But I've created a layout using a paint strip I created by starting with one color of blue and increasing the lightness four times. My layout is Missing You (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=19356), I may work on some more elements or ribbon, but the basic idea is complete.

Here ya go! I took a paint swatch strip and duplicated it side by side a few times to make a photo mat. :)
