There's an entire list of ideas for member-hosted events. We've had a few take this on, but I'd LOVE to see members doing whatever they want in the chat room. I know Kristen did Stone Soup crops several months ago, and Mekstamper did a lot of impromptu and ad-inspired Quick Crops, as well as some others, but it's been a long time.

Here's the list:

Have a ball!

What I didn't know is that there are rules associated with the different crops. Like last nights quick crop, I didn't know that you could only use elements from the kit in order to be eligible for prizes. Is there a quick reference guide?

Each host might have a different set of rules and some have none, just ask your chat host if there are any specific rules of the crop

Is there a quick reference guide?Well, I'm sure you didn't know since this is new, but soon we'll be able to post all the crop details right at the top of the chat screen, like guidelines, links, downloads, etc. Will be really nice, and everyone will know exactly what's going on!

ROFLOL!!!!! Thanks Kristen - all that extra time will come in handy!!!

Did you know that it is really fun to host an impromptu crop? I have more time for this during the summer time but I found when I wanted a friend to scrap with me it was great fun to post in the forums and on the computer scrapping egroup list that I was going to be cropping and to meet in the crop room at such and such a time! Then I would have company and good chatter while I scrapped! I highly recommend it!

So ......... if we want to offer prizes, how would we go about that? I mean, can you buy kits for prizes?? Yes, I know that it might not be necessary but a good incentive is always good for a good turnout. Can one host a chat AND offer door prizes in some way?

Margie

you could certainly buy a gift certificate in the store for the winner if you want. you could also offer artwork of your own if you'd like. certainly not necessary, but you could if you so wish. :)

did you know that dsp has a great time zone chart to help you convert to your own time zone for events? on the home page, click on convert to your time zone. it's also here:
http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/place/timezones.shtml
there's also a link in case you need a time zone that's not included!
