Kits and Freebies

I'm new to this site and managing my way around. I have learned how to download some of your freebies (thank you so much). Anyway, being new to PS CS (currently taking Emma's beginner class) I was wondering how the freebies work. I know to list the designer when using the products but are you able to change colors of the items? At this point, I've only worked with my creations but would like to learn to incorporate some of the wonderful sets you have for sale.
I just downloaded the new tags embellishments and realized that the size can be changed but what about the colors of the tags? And when buying items not just embellishments in the store, are there some that can be color changed and other items not?
I hope I'm posting this in the correct area? Maybe the beginners area instead? Thanks for any of you that might be able to answer these questions.

You can absolutely change them as needed. That one of the great things about digital!

Thats why I love digital. I change colors all the time. I also make changes like adding textures, erasing parts, and making different objects ect. But, if I am using someone else's creation then if I post in a gallery or submit the layout for publication I make sure to note in the credits what changes I have made. So go and have some creative fun!!
