View Full Version : My absence - here's why

I'm sorry I haven't been around this month but to comment on a layout or two. My father has been ill and in the hospital; even so his death was not expected at this time, so when that happened last Friday it rather devastated us. My mother passed away last year and so there is much to be done, for he had not moved and we had not distributed any of her things except to give her clothing to charity. Their house is more or less exactly as if they were still there. But they are together again if you believe in that sort of thing; they never wanted to be apart.

I made a quick trip out of town to see my niece get married; my daughter was the flower girl and he knew we were going and was looking forward to seeing photos when I got home. It hurts that I cannot show him my photos; he died while we were gone. I will be scrapping some and uploading them to the gallery as I have a chance. It was a day full of conflicting emotions but was a beautiful wedding, and my daughter, having not been told the news until we got home, had a wonderful time being a flower girl.

I will be around a bit, but will be scarce in the gallery and forums for a few weeks, and do apologise for that. I miss my daily interaction with everyone here. I will finish the sparkle kit before too long and post a new challenge as soon as I can. Thanks so much to you all for being my extended family. I'm getting through this and will be fine; it will just take a little time.

Love,
Elisabeth

Elizabeth so sorry for your sad loss. It is always hard to lose a parent and losing both yours in such a short time is extra hard. I'm glad you have some small comfort in knowing they are together again. It is understandable you will have important priorities to deal with and look forward to when you can be back full time but take as much time as you need with your family matters.

Elizabeth I am so sorry to hear of your loss but it is really nice to think of your parents being together again. I take comfort from the Willie Nelson Song Blue eyes crying in the rain, they walking hand in hand again in a land that knows no parting....

I am so sorry for your loss Elisabeth. There are probably not many words we can say to help matters right now, but my prayers are with you. My husband lost his father March of last year and it was unexpected as well. Family comes first and we'll be here when you get back. Lots of hugs and love to you:love1:

Z...

Don't apologize for taking care of you and yours in this extremely difficult time. I am amazed that you have the energy to do anything online right now. No need to feel like you are making excuses, take all the time that you need but know that we are here for you.

My heart goes out to you...

I was in tears reading your post. It was three years ago today that my grandma died... so my emotions are kind of raw today.

Take all the time you need. We will be here when you are up to coming back more often.

Sending you lots of hugs and positive energy.

Z-ditto to what has already been said-you don't owe us an apology and even though knowing that your parents are together again it's still a very hard thing for those left behind and my heart is breaking for you and your family. Please know that all of you are in my thoughts and prayers thru this difficult time.

I just found out about this.. My deepest heartfelt condolences, Z :( :( :( I'm so very sorry for your loss and hope you are doing as well as can be expected at this time... My condolences to other members of your family too on losing a father/brother/sister/grandparent. I also lost my parents within a year of each other and fully understand the feeling of loss/grief that you must be going through.... {{{{Z}}}}

Oh Z, my heart goes out to you. I knew your dad was ill, but this is the first I heard of his passing. I am so sorry and also sad that he will not get to see your photos. Sending big {{{hugs and prayers}}} your way. We will be here when you are able to spend time with us!!!

Thanks so much to everyone for your kind thoughts and prayers. I won't pretend this is easy or I'm caught up, or even that I'm emotionally stable right now! But I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your notes and words of wisdom. I can tell it's touched some of you from personal experience and I'm sorry for your own losses.

Okay, so I am trying to get things going again around here and hopefully I'll get back to viewing the spectacular gallery again, and so forth! My first BOGO challenge is up for May, and the kit for that goes in the store May 4. Also watch out for Ann Maree's new Out of Bounds challenge, if you are inclined to those, and if not, you should check it out; they are so addicting!

Hugs to all, and thanks again, so much, for your thoughts and support while I was all but gone from this wonderful place that means so much to all of us!

Elizabeth
