Hi,
I was wondering if anyone had any scrapbooking ideas. I have made up many different elements and papers and things but I don't really have any subjects to use them with. I don't have children. My family isn't too thrilled about being photographed. I have pets, but I've used that up. What other kinds of things can I scrapbook?
Thanks,
Rachel

I'm new to digital scrapping but here are a few ideas to get you started
Your Home town
How it has changed from being little to now
A book of you
A few of your favourite things
Your garden...
Nature shots animals, flowers, scenery,
Going to a museum or art gallery adventure for the day
Take a bus or train trip record the event save the tickets etc and scan them in.
Get on your bicycle ??? do the same
Do you have a book club,
Special friends ?
scraplift a gallery layout to get your creative ideas flowing sometimes you just have to kick start (this is definately my problem I could peruse other layouts all day)
ooh think I might try some of those ideas now.
Good luck

My family always moans and groans about me and my camera, too, but I firmly believe that they are happy that I am preserving "family history" and they always appreciate my LOs - so even if they're not excited about being photographed, I do it anyway. I try to only use flattering (or funny) pictures, and I'm fond of clone painting out double chins, trimming waistlines and giving virtual facelifts, too, so they sometimes look better in my pics than they do in real life.

I scrap for my friends little girl since I don't have one and I like doing girly layouts. Also vacations, events, concerts, anything and everything! Holidays, parties, etc.
When I hear this, I always wonder if the scrapper thinks her life is boring (which she never does!) Because if you're active and busy, then just take photos of whatever you're doing that doesn't seem boring to YOU. It's YOUR scrapbook!
I've done layouts about not knowing what to scrap :) A photo of me sitting at my computer, looking bored, with a lot of journaling about why I scrap and what happens when I don't feel like it.
Anyway, just think of this as an illustrated journal, and write about your feelings, etc, and take photos to go with that.
I take photos of things I enjoy doing: my garden, even the veggies, of my cooking/baking, especially homemade bread makes a nice photo, lots of pictures of my sewing projects, photos of every room in my house, the messy version made some very funny layouts, the furniture, the neighborhood, the sky, the weather, and TONS of night/moon photos.
And YES, dont' let your family/friends' whining stop you from taking photos! Make some layouts and print them as gifts for no reason, and they will likely stop whining so much, especially if you clone out some wrinkles ;)
So take your camera with YOU and take photos of whatever YOU'RE doing that interests YOU!
Let us know what you come up with! Everyone is so different :) So glad to have you with us: welcome to DSP!

I have one more idea!
Heritage! If you can get ahold of family pictures from past generations and make a heritage album - the extended family will probably get very excited about that and that might open their eyes to realize how important it is for their pictures to be preserved for future generations!

That too is a very good idea. I've been trying to convince my grandmother to let me scan all the pictures that they have. I'm really into photo restoration as well. I'm actually pretty good at that.
Thanks again,
Rachel
