Hi all. I am totally new to digital scrapbooking and use a mac. I'd like to start simple. Does anyone have any experience with iScrapbook? What do you think of it?

Hi longfellow, i'm also trying iscrapbook. It has some great features but keeps crashing. The response from their techies is very slow and not very helpful. I am plodding along and have some nice work but it would be great to have a reliable programme.
I have just moved to a mac which is great but the software is limited. Hope you get some more helpful replies

Hi Longfellow,
 I have a Mac too. I was looking at iScrapbook, but it looked awful limiting.
I started on Print Explosion Deluxe 3.0 as it has some scrapbooking elements included. I just downloaded The GIMP, and, although it's not as simple as the other, I really love it. The GIMP was a freebie.
I am WAY new to scrapbooking (digital and paper), so, if I can figure it out, I think just about anyone can.
Good Luck!
Here's my gallery. "Moving Dirt" was my first LO with the GIMP.

Thanks for looking! :)

Im not familiar with iScrapbook -
There are plenty of good scrapbooking programmes though that are reasonably priced - GIMP as Krusho mentioned is free but it has a pretty steep learning curve and not too many users to share info with - We have a link with a list of suggestions for suitable programmes under the campus section of the site - click on New to Digital

I use a Mac and I really like PSE4. That's Adobe product and is not too expensive. I love the bridge organizer and I use iPhoto frequently to do some photo edits.

I am not familiar with these programs what you are talking for making digital scrapbook!
But I have used Photo collage Studio to design my personalized digital scrapbook!
It's so easy to use, having hundreds of pre-designed templates, more cliparts, frame, wordart and special effect, that's why i choose it!

be sure to click on new to digital under the top menu (it's under any of the choices!) it'll explain all the programs and options!

Perhaps just a name change on the gallery to Chat & Posting Freebies? I caught on pretty quick after reading the descriptions in a few of the items in the gallery that it was for chats and posting.

Hello. I have a new mac and it runs both platforms mac and windows. I have not run anything on the windows side, I guess for fear that something may happen. I waited many many many years to get this mac and I don't want anything to happen to it. I had looked into memorymixer www.memorymixer.com and they have a trial you can download supports both mac and windows. Office Depot carries both Memory mixer version 1 and version 2 as well as IRemember www.macscrapbook.com, which was developed for the mac. I read the reviews for Iremember and decided that it was limiting on photo positioning. I decided to go with photoshop elements  I hope this helps. Marcia

Also with Memory Mixer I forgot that you can add video and music or your own narration to your scrapbook pages. Just info :)

I also came across iRemeber not too long ago, and like you, thought it seemed pretty limited in what it can do. I also use photshop elements.
I am a Mac fanatic, but I found all those types of "template" programs very limiting. Started with Scrapbook Factory, which was probably similar to the Apple programs you mentioned.
After enough frustration, I switched to Photoshop Elements (PSE) and took Emma's DSU 160 (http://store.digitalscrapbookplace.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=364) class. I recommend that highly!!! :yahoo:
With PSE (or something like it), you can always use ploppers if you want templates, but you can do SO much more!! I've moved up to Photoshop now and love it, too. Best bang for your buck, though, is definitely PSE in my opinion.
You might want to download some demo versions so you can get a feel for the programs. Good luck on finding something you're happy with.

I been into PSE2 since it came out and I swore that until I learned every phase of it I would resist upgrading, so DSP keeps me practicing. I don't post that much because sometimes I mix a lot of stuff together and I don't have the time to go back and look up all the credits. If I just use one kit, I have more luck fitting it into my time frame for posting. Elements is excellent for the price.
