Do I need both PSP9 and PE3

Hi, I have been looking at getting new software (my husband's Christmas gift for me), would I need both PSP9 and Photoshop E 3 :) both programs have features that I like. Help please with some advise :confused: .

Well we can never have to much software now can we????!!!LOL!!! But seriously I dont think you NEEEEEEEEEEEEEED to have both - but they are quite different programmes in their use of effects - With pse you will be able to use some of the many layer styles which are downloadable all over the net for effects whereas in psp9 you might have to purchase add on filters to acheive such effects with ease - having said that it really does depend on what you want to use the software for - if you are creating elements you might like to have both but will likely find creating elements easier in PSE , and PSP has wonderful digital photo tools too so hmmmm -Im not much help am I??????

I have ordered PSP 9 this morning, through a computer store, any software I have I like to have the disc. I thought that the cookie cutter in PE3 would be good but I gave it some thought and worked out how I can cut out shapes in photos in PSP 7 so I am sure that I will be able to do the same in 9.
I have one of our granddaughters as a star as well as other shapes.

the main feature in PSE that PSP doesn't have that makes it worth it is Layer Styles

other than that, PSP is the more powerful program. It's just that layer styles are soooo cool for making elements, much faster

But Team PSP rocked Software Wars, so it can make a mean element just as well as any other software!
