I went to three different High schools and the first two were Air Force base schools so everyone was kind of 'itinerant' and friendships tended to lasy only as long as a tour of duty. My last high school was a civilian one. I lived in a country village and it was difficult to meet up with my high school friends very often after school because of distance and transport issues. And then as soon as I finished hig school we moved to Australia. I wrote to my best friends for a while but everyone went off to pursue their new post-school lives and got caught up in other things so we drifted apart. I was thinking about my best friend Alison the other day and wondering how her life panned out.
