Please help with adj layer

I've worked with the adj / layer masks before without issue, but today I'm trying to blend a photo into the background using a layer mask / adj layer. I'm following my instructions from the DSU160 class, but can't seem to get the round or airbrushes to work! The spatter and chalk ones will work but the others won't. :confused:

In case anyone is having the same problem....

I found out in the Photoshop Elements User forum (http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com) that when brushes get messed up you can hit CTL-ALT-SHIFT when bringing up the editor, and it will ask you if you'd like to delete your 'Photoshop Elements settings file'. Reply 'YES' and your brushes will reset. It fixed my problem. :tup:
