i just went thru my fonts and uninstalled and installed and reorganized and now every email i get SAYS it's times new roman, but it's really a random font! and it does it on word documents and websites and everything. and i've already rebooted, that's the weird thing! but it's kinda fun, not knowing what font will be next. :D any ideas??
oh, only 205 fonts installed. the rest are in another folder. :)

they're still keeping me guessing. it acts like i've deleted an important system font, so it's substituting a random font for that, but i didn't. i was careful. so no idea why it would do this, after numerous reboots and power offs. powers off, not sure on the grammar there! :D but i guess i can get used to it. email's a little more exciting when you don't know what font you'll be reading next. bright side i guess! :)

Hi Margie,
Well I jumped right in and cleaned up my font folder after viewing this message! :D I did a search on google for default fonts in Win98 (which is what I am running) it was sort of interesting and fun! Then I found another site in which it discussed which fonts to leave alone, basically anything with .sys and then there was another one also (started with an "M"). I had 727 Fonts in my windows folder!! I am now down to about 80!! My outlook has changed it's font when I read my emails, but I still get to choose which font to use in typing a new email! So that's good. Everything else looks to be running with the correct fonts.
Now I need to find a font manager.

man, i forgot to post! while it's more boring, it's back to normal. :) i searched and searched in font thing and finally realized that somehow my system fonts (times new roman for one) were "in" the fonts folder, but not "installed". so i just had to delete them, then reinstall them. weird, and no idea how it happened, but the excitement is over. :D
