I've not done much posting today yet but will be getting started after dinner. I'm on 3478 posts now so I'm aiming for 4,000 this month - but I secretly hope to get to 5,000; then there aren't any more posting club awards until 10,000 are there! Hi, I'm back. I've left lots of love on all the LOs in the feed the hungry thread, and on almost 4 pages of new LOs. I've also been in the Scrap the Scrappies thread and checked and fed their LOs, too.
But, the main thing I've done today is I've actually created 5 LOs today - YEP actual scrapbook pages, not cards this time! I did have to delete and amend one of them but it's finished now. I've finally been bitten by the bug again after about 2 months stuck with scrappers' block!
Thing is, though, I won't be doing as much posting in the form of comments as I have whilst not scrapping. But I've not set myself too high a target and I'll definitely post as often as I can. I just hope that's good enough.

Actually I'm a bit on edge when commenting - especially when giving CCs - as I've not done many LOs myself and people might think 'who the heck does she think she is.....' etc. So I'll be glad to add a few more LOs to my gallery. In fact I've quite a lot of unfinished LOs that got left when I was starting with 'the block' so I'd better finish them sometime, too.

Anyway, I'm rabbiting on enough for ten people. I'm going to try and sleep. See you all tomorrow. Happy 4th, everyone! Goodnight God Bless. :) Mo

On the right side of the top menu, next to "Upload Photos" is a link for "Profile". Click that and it will tell you what your current comments are. Just write that number down somewhere and then check it at the end of the month to get your July comment total.

I hadn't realised that they were separate. I thought that 'posts' and 'comments' were synonymous!

I thought that the idea of this monthly challenge was to encourage both COMMENTING on LOs and POSTING in threads and therefore becoming more active and contributory members here at DSP.

I think I quite like my personal interpretation and will continue to COMMENT and POST - I know I'll do far more commenting than posting, anyway. :) Mo

Hey Neaker, are you sure that is right? I had one of the designers tell me or it was in a thread that I read, might have even been this one when it first started, but they said that number of comments you are referring to is how many comments you have "received on your LOs" and the number under your name when you post in a thread is the number of times you have posted in the galleries or forums and I think they include your LO posts, as well. I guess you could tell for sure by checking that number, commenting on one LO, then checking again. Although I guess you would have to double check that nobody commented on your LOs in the meantime. Been away all day, having a wonderful 4th.

Because, really and truly, it would be so much nicer to keep the neutral background for the layouts. Inquiring minds want to know...

I believe the aim of this thread is to encourage our active participation here at DSP and that means commenting on photos AND also joining in the chats and competitions in the threads throughout the site. When I last posted I was on 3589 and I'm now up to 3,677 and I've not done much commenting today yet.

I've been busy in the feed the hungry thread where we're trying to set up some blinkies to celebrate our scrapping achievements - a bit like the posts blinkies but with shorter intervals. Why not check it out. Read my post on the second page of today's thread and see Carola's (aka Carolat) blinkie design in her signature on the first page of today's feed the hungry thread.

Regarding the change of DSP colours, I'm presuming that the colours are in celebration of Independence Day and they'll change back soon, like they did Easter/Springtime. I agree with you about the blue in the galleries I'll be glad when that area changes back, the rest of the site is quite cheerful in its new colours. :) Mo

Darling dil is having her first baby in 2 wks and she, ds and stepson all visited which was special. I'll have lots of new baby photos to scrap soon - can't wait. DITTO withdrawal and twiddling thumbs when can't get on line. And the last few days have been terrible here with the server being busy and discarding comments I've made without saving them cos it's too busy!!!!! DSP obviously needs a bigger server!

I don't know about anyone else but I've been losing connection here and getting a 'server is busy.....' message - I've been losing comments I've written and struggling to get back to the LO I'm viewing.

I've given up and gone offline several times which is really frustrating!!! (Never mind I've done 3 LOs whilst offline - my dd sent me 70 family hols and zoo photos and ds sent me 20 from his prom so I've got plenty to keep me busy)

Anyway, despite the struggle I've managed to move up to 3,919 posts tonight. In my last 2 counts I had 3,764, then 3,899. So I've obviously not commented as much as normal due to the server problem.

WOW only 81 to go and I've reached my target of 4,000 for July. :) :) Mo

What some of us do is set ourselves a REALISTIC target each month and aim for that! Let us know when you're getting near your target and we'll cheer you along. Regarding a name. I think that when you've reached 5,000 you should have a Royal title. Maybe something like: I'm Queen of this Palace - a slight change of the word 'place', and maybe others might like to be other members of the Royal household, such as the Queen's Mother, Grandma, Princess, you get the gist, don't you! You should have a regal blinkie with yourself in royal attire with crown and sceptre, too. Well it's just a suggestion. I'm trying to think of something for myself cos I'm over 4,000 now and will be catching you up - well I'm doing my darndest to do so, anyway! You're such an inspiration to us all. Just thought of another how about Champion Cheerleader!?!

Been feeding 11 pages of new LOs to be precise.

I worked out that I need to do 40+ posts per day for the rest of the month to get to 5,000 by the end of July. If I manage that it'll be great but I also want to get my LO count up as well. I'd like to get to 200 LOs by the end of August. Gosh this is fun. And I love challenging myself a little. Off to try and sleep now. BFN. :) Mo

Whilst still waiting for a new motherboard for my laptop my dh went out and bought me a new superduper laptop which has loads of memory and harddrive so I can go get paintshop or photoshop and go to dsp uni now!:tup:

Well I've been busy commenting and posting whilst catching up in the threads.

My dh took me out to order photoshop yesterday; it'll arrive tomorrow! I'm so excited and longing to have a play, but it looks rather complicated so I think I'd better go to dsp classes rather than try to learn by myself, don't you?

My dh is taking me out again now to take some photos of my old schools and the park for my All About Me album which I'm longing to start but I've still got lots of photos to get off dh's puter onto my laptop and also all my scrapping stuff from my small laptop before I can get started.
