Crud, I'm having a total brain fart and can't for the life of me remember how Emma said to make a photo mat in PSP7. I've done it several times, but now it's just gone from my memory. :o

The easiest way is to make use the Preset Shape Tool, rectangular, on a layer under your photo layer.

If you need to make one that's more exact, make a Selection the same shape as your Photo: use the Magic Wand Tool, all opaque Match Mode and click on the photo. Then on a layer under your photo, fill it, and use Deform to enlarge it (this is good for oddly shaped photos, or something where you want exactly the same amount of mat peeking out from each edge)

If any PS/E users made it this far, do the same thing by Ctrl-clicking the Photo Layer Thumbnail in the Layers Palette to make a selection exactly the shape of your photo.

I ended up just doing the preset shape rectangle for it. I tried and tried, but could not for the life of me get the magic wand bit to work (this was before I posted here earlier), and I was so baffled as to why it wasn't working. I see now I was leaving out a step. lol Ooops. Thanks again for replying, Emma. I'm not going to forget and have to muddle through again. :p
