Help - PSE4

I need help - I just purchased a new laptop with Vista - and when I told the tech that I had PSE4 he said it was compatible with Vista - now I am being told that my PSE4 will not work with Vista and I have to upgrade to PSE5 - Has this happened to anyone else or am I just missing something? I really don't want to have to pay another $80 to upgrade. Any suggestions? Thanks

I believe only 5 is compatible with Vista. Can you take it back?

I bought a new laptop with Vista and loaded PSE4 on it. I haven't had any problems with the program at all.

Search online. I was looking at a new desktop and read that although PSE4 doesn't say it is compatible, it runs without any problems. I don't think you should have any problem with it. I searched Vista Photoshop Elements 4 I believe.

Thank you all for your help! I played with it yesterday and if I just go ahead and hit the "run program" button, PSE comes up and seems to be okay. I haven't printed my layout yet, today I will do that and see what happens. Again, thank you all for your replies.

I just recently got a vista laptop and I installed my PSE4. I have not had any problems with it at all. The only thing different, is that my help files are gone, and I have to reinstall them.

This is probably a silly questions, but where do you get the help files to re-install?
