Comment Challenge for August

Hi all!! Welcome to another month of Comment Challenge! You all do such a great job commenting, and your posts are really going up the charts! It's AWESOME!! I know everyone loves getting comments, so this month let's see how many layouts we can find in the gallery that have zero comments on them, and make them feel loved and special too!

So, as always, come post in here when you've commented on some layouts, and don't forget to add when you've found some with no comments on them! ;) I'll be picking some random winners throughout the month, so the more you comment and post in here, the more chances you have of winning! :)

Well since I will write down the number of comments I started with somewhere and lose it by months end I will post it here so I can find it in 30 days! I started at 317.....

ladies go check out all the scrap your stuffies layouts they just have the most beautiful journaling on them and if you havent done your own stuffies layout then think about doing it they wonderful memories to keep alive and there are like 2 or 3 randon prizes being given away

I found a quite a few LO with no comments and some of them are wonderful. This is a great idea and I'll continue tomorrow as the server seems to be very slow at times and I'm getting soooo tired.

I was at 5735 on Aug.1 now am at 5832. I've been commenting in the Trendsetters Gallery, the Inspiration Call gallery, and in the new layouts. A lot of these had no comments before I posted. I hope to reach 6000 comments before the end of August.

Well I have made it to page 3 of the new layouts and there were more zeros then I thought there would be.. I find most of them are on layouts with non DSP products! Its hard for me to do them.

Me too Reba. I've always thought that we should post where we buy. If we are using DSP servers and bandwidth, we should be using their products. An occassional element or something from somewhere else is ok, I think, but most of the product should be from DSP. But, that's just my opinion and I don't make the rules. That's just what I try to do.

I just found this challenge this is great. I will start looking for 0s. I just hit NKOTB, Power Scrappers and am going through the August Project Challenge thread looking for links. I started around 5 comments on the 1st and am now almost to 200...

Are comments the same as posts? Is there a place to see how many actual comments you have or are posts included as comments? I'm new to this place so excuse me if this is answered elsewhere and just point me in the right direction. Thanks.

Wow felynn! You are on starting out with a bang! most of use use the posts number under your avatar, but if you go into the user statistics, I think it is called, you can see how many actual comments you have.

OK I went and checked out, where to find it. The only way I can get find to get into that screen. You have to be in a gallery and click on your user name under one of your LOs, then it says comments. There might be another way but this is the only way I can find.

Are you sure that is the count for the user MAKING comments or how many the user has gotten on her layouts? Mine says like only 1200 something and I know I comment on layouts much more than post in a forum. My count under my avatar is over 3500. I think the count that you are talking about is how many comments you have RECEIVED, also because it shows how many times your layouts have been viewed and how much space you are using.

I slacked off today. Only did 25 and didn't even finish with my fellow new kids. Brain is just not in a comment mood. I'm going to try for at least triple tomorrow to make up for it

felynn--I think 25 is exceptional. Sometimes it's really hard for me to make many more than 10-15 which mainly consists of notifications and the surrounding layouts!

However, just out of curiosity mind you, I did a check for yesterday--I did 77 comments!!! BUT, it's only because I was sitting with my son's laptop whilst waiting for the doctors! I had no distractions.

I got so inspired--can't wait for the weekend to do layouts!

About the addictive nature of commenting - it is rather necessary for inspiration - everyone hits a block now and then and looking at and commenting on (analyzing) other layouts is a great way to get going again!

Randomly commenting again - I don't think I have an actual "plan of attack" I just coment on the layouts that have 0 one day, ones with clickability for the next 15 min. or so, then I'll go to one of the challenge galleries!

Been commenting around as usual - Got a quick question, when I post a link in Yahoo, it makes a link out of the first 2/3 of the line and leaves the rest of the line as regular type. Does anyone know how to designate a certain group of characters as a link in Yahoo?

Well, I think this challenge has really encouraged people to make more comments. I always wondered when you see such high number in the "views" and no comments what was wrong. I was also amazed at the number of LO's I found with no comments, and I was glad to add one to let them know what I liked.

Okay, I hit my target yesterday but that was just a piddly one! It's now the 1st of September (here anyway, yipee the first day of spring) so my aim for this month is to get to 6000 posts (from 4828 which will be 4829 after this), if Helene can do 1000 or more in a month I reckon I can too :tup:

Well I really surprized myself in this challenge for a totla of 1033 comments made, many of them new layouts with ZERO comments. I saw lots of wonderful LO's from some new members, as well as inspiring LO's by the current DET, and the designers.
I am always amazed at how fast the gallery moves.
