Id like to try and organise a get together before the crop for those of us who will be there - The new exercise trend here is the PHOTO WALK - combine your exercise with your hobby - so I was thinking we could do something just a bit like that - but less of the exercise and more of the photo taking - I know it can be pretty hot in Vegas in September but there are plenty of places we can take great photos inside - Some of the places that Im thinking of - The Conservatory at the Bellagio - The Canals at the Venetian, The Eiffel Tower, Inside a Pyramid at the Luxor, well you know the list is never ending in Vegas - we can do a world tour in a day - with plenty of stops for refreshments along the way
I havent finalised anything at this stage but when I have I will let you know a meeting place and time and we can go from there!!!

I am planning on being there but depends on hubby's health. I can't leave him if he is having problems, we are hopeing that he can come with me a play some video poker. Or sleep and watch ball games...can't do much walking for him. I plan on driving down as it is only 1 1/2 hours from my home in Southern Utah.

As those of you who keep up in the granny thread know, my son had surgery last week. It was planned, and it's why when talking about Las Vegas in the chats I couldn't commit. I'm still am hoping to get to go, :pray: but it's going to be a last minute decision depending on how things are, and I'll only be able to go for the weekend.

Keep your fingers crossed that all the stars are aligned! And keep me posted on where everyone is staying--I've never been to Las Vegas, and don't want to get lost! :twins:

Well, I had said that if the kid got out of the hospital, I would make my arrangements, so when I knew he was coming home I made my flight and hotel reservation. That was the Saturday before my Mom's accident.

However, Mom is home now, my sister from TN is still there, my brother is at this very moment driving from Dallas where he flew in from Hawaii, and my sister from NV will be driving in later this week. I will go up next weekend, and all four of us will be there to discuss with Mom what we think needs to happen. My sister from NV will be staying with her for a couple of weeks.

Soooooo! Barring any major catastophe (Read--somebody dies), I am planning on being there. :yahoo: My flight gets in early Saturday morning, and I leave Sunday night. I am looking forward to the photowalk, and to the crop. Not having a laptop, I can tell you that I intend to be looking over several shoulders to see just how they work the magic that they do!:lol:

I was reading about a Vegas photo walk - on the net ( yes someone has already done one!!) it was 3 hours and basically didnt get outside the bellagio!! - I think if we meet at the Bellagio and then move across to Ceasars palace and the forum shops to start - then maybe across the road to Paris and then perhaps get the Monorail from the Ballys stop down to near the MGM /NYNY photos thats probably goign to take up much of the day dont you think!!!!- Of course we have to fit in lunch somewhere along the line too - Ive read amazing things about the Sunday lunch at Ballys - but I have no idea on the price or even whether its a suitable place for us

One I really like is at Mandalay Bay - but that is too far away. If it doesn't have to be a buffet, there are tons of places. I like the Rainforest cafe at the MGM, but it does tend to be crowded and a bit overpriced. At the forum shops there are all kinds of places! My personal favorite is the Cheesecake Factory. They have a fairly decent price range of places there.
