Hello! (first post)
I am using PhotoShop CS, does anyone know if it supports right-to-left text input directly?
Or perhaps is there a way for me to import text from Word? I'm stumped, as I want to use alternate text and don't know how to get it onto the transparent background.
I wrote some of the letters freehand .. but, they're well in a word "yucky".
Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure I understand your question. Are you talking about justification? Check the character palette. It allows many different kinds of justification.

I should have been more clear. I want to be able to input arabic script directly as I type it. Arabic, as well as Hebrew is input from right to left.
Thanks for the reply.

I can't figure out a way except to type backwards. You can flip text blocks around to be mirror image, but then the characters will be backwards too.
Does Word support right to left entry? I didn't know that! Try emailing Adobe support and ask. Perhaps one of their foreign language editions has a driver or patch for that they can let you download. I have no idea, but it's worth an ask!
Until then, have fun typing backwards...

Well, I actually did try the backwards idea, arabic when writing, changes the form of the letter depending on it's location in the word. So.. then, I wrote in Word, converted that to PDF, to PNG, then free transformed.. still searching.
Maybe, better to get a nice Wacom tablet. What better excuse for shopping.

In EDIT > PREFERENCES > GENERAL there is an option to display Asian text options - sorry I really don't know enough obout this to know if this is silly/helpful!!!
Only other thing I can suggest is doing a Google search - I tried but again don't know enough about the languages involved.

Thank you, Meryl. I will check it out.
I found a trial version of PhotoShop CS ME (Middle East) version. If all else fails, I will install that on another machine, and have to do word art -- fast and furious for 30 days.
Thanks for the reply.
