Greetings, all.
I had been on the fence about making the plunge on two things - a Graphics Tablet and PS CS3. I decided to make the plunge first with a tablet and purchased the Wacom Intuos 6x8 at our local CompUSA ($349). While it hasn't replaced my mouse, I am really getting attached to it, and it really is the ideal tool for more precise editing of photos.
As an added bonus, when I followed the online registration for the tablet, I was asked about viewing offers from partners, which I did (I think both Adobe and Corel had offers), and what do you know PS CS3 was offered at a special upgrade price of $299. List price for CS3 is $649, upgrade from PSE is $549, and from earlier versions of PS $199. The $299 was based on a special upgrade offer (Wacom packages PSE 4 with the tablet). The deal seemed too good to be true so I called Adobe and the representative indeed verified it (he sounded kind of surprised), and I believe he said the offer was valid through the end of November. I know people have mentioned education pricing, and certainly there may be other upgrade deals out there, but I found this too good to pass up. Two big dollar amounts kind of back to back, but hopefully that is it for a while.
So, I am learning my way around Photoshop (some parts much easier than I expected, other things I know I just can't be doing in the most effieicient way).
Cheers,
Kathleen
