this sounds like a really fun challenge! I would love to participate. :) I will start working on mine tonight.
Here is a layout about a book I loved as a child - A Girl of the Limberlost (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=209270&cat=847). I got it out today to scan in for this challenge and started reading it again and remembered why I love it so much. Thanks, Meryl!!!

Thanks so much Meryl,
This was so much fun to do and so much fun to remember. My Mom has a photo of me with the book when I got it but alas she has no scanner. I will replace the picture when I get it from her,,,,,In the meantime,The photo is of 3 of my sibs and me and the book is the actual book with the inscription inside. The story is true, I'm ashamed to say, but I did learn how to give a proper blessing very quickly after that(MY Mother started me right away.).
I did 2 pages because the Journaling needed a page to itself.
I plan on doing a page for each of my daughters about their favorite books too.

Well I have to say I think this is the best week ever for Heritage - the LO's are all truely outstanding and I have a list of books to get. Everyone seems so passionate about the effect of stories and reading on their childhoods. Do you think there is a link between scrapping and reading? Maybe the love of daydreaming and creating worlds in our heads? These LO's really brought out the creative juices - and the journaling juices as the LO's are accompanied by just marvelous stories themselves.
Anyway - thanks for sharing these fantastic LO's. I am now inspired to do an entire album of my favorite childhood books.

Here's mine: Summer Escape (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=210302&cat=847). I had a folder started with all kinds of favorite books, and all kinds of great ideas! It got down to the wire, and I actually thought I wouldn't get one done for this week! However, sacrifices were made (I'm late for work--I've got my priorities straight! ;) ) and I at least got this one done! I think I could do a whole album around this subject!

I couldn't decide, so I piled them on. I started a couple of layouts with a single book, or a set, but I just couldn't leave the rest out, and even these are only a few of them...

Lynne, I just left comms on yours - I think it's wonderful! I don't know if it is intentional, but before you click on your image to open it, it looks a bit like a thatched cottage with a chimney! If it wasn't, I'd exploit that, I think!

If I don't appear at Heritage tomorrow please forgive me.
I felt pain yesterday when I simply bent over to put laundry into the tumble drier but thought it would just get better. However, today I can barely move the pain is incredible. Ray has even stayed home (fortunately able to work from his laptop) to look after me – very unusual…. He took me early to the chiropractor – he has said to stay in bed. Right now sitting more than 5 minutes is impossible.
I was also going to telly you in the chat that Friday (back permitting) we leave for a weeks holiday to our timeshare, so won't be at Heritage next week either.
Please can I ask one of you lovely ladies to be hostess for me? tomorrow 9if I don't appear) and next week?
I have been loving seeing this weeks pages - will catch up asap.......

It's so exciting to see the wonderful lo's on this topic. I guess it's clear that scrapbooking and literary interests just go together, lol. I have loved all the pages this week!!!
Meryl, I certainly hope your back recovers for your holiday. Nothing is worse than back pain. Take good care of yourself and your back...do what the doc says.

Incase Meryl doesn't make it to chat here are the links to the polls for this week.
Because there were so many entries this week I had to make two polls, but as usual you must only vote on either poll 1 or poll 2.
Poll 1 (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=26249)
Poll 2 (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=26250)

Oh Meryl - so sorry to hear you were in pain with your back. Hope you are feeling better quickly - especially with your plans to go away!!!!
We had a good group in the chat room tonight and voting was very difficult with all the amazing pages. I think this was one of the best topics we have had.
Tonight's winner was:
FORMBYGIRL with her fabulous page The Books of Me (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=210310&cat=847)
