Well, we have 2 desktops, that we have made (hubby and self) and one recent laptop purchase (thank the lord for tax refunds--- ;) )
I love my desktops, definitely more space. I can't say I love the laptop yet, but getting there. It is different typing on it. Everything is so compact, but I like the ease of mobility. All in all I am please with the laptop, but definitely cannot give up the desktop.
And mine is a PC. But I would be just as happy with a MAC--I am not a diehard PC user. Windows gets on my nerves...oh, different topic, different day..LOL

For me desktop PC. We have a laptop but only use it when we go out of town. Which will be this weekend. Yeah. :) My parents are finally home from their mission so we are going up to Salt Lake to spend a few days with them.

i have a pc desktop. just one, for now. we're going to start buying parts for my very own pc with our tax return (after bills and all that). mike mods cases, and he's dying to do another one since i won't let him touch this case anymore, lol.

Oh that is funny Tracey. My husband would love to mod out his case, but alas, there is always something else we need for the pcs. He loves all the see-through cases.
We only have an extra (mine) because we had accumulated enough parts from upgrading his pc, that I could make my own...LOL. But it definitely beats fighting over who is going to have time on it. :p
Between is counter-strike playing (online gaming for those that don't know) and his chatting; my scrapping and chatting...man, there is just no way we could share a pc. :)

I use a laptop with a desktop monitor hooked up to it. I quickly ran out of harddrive space so I have another older computer networked to my computer for storage purposes. Quickly filled that up too so I have some stuff on DH's computer.
We are in the process of buying a new computer for DH and then he is upgrading his current computer to give to me with lots of hard drive space! Yipee!

I'm using a souped up Dell Dimension 8250 here. :) Nothing new for me until after DH has been at his new job (once he gets one that is...) for a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time!!

that's why he got into case modding, lol. he loved the look of all these cases- and wanted to do his own :).

sounds like my dad. whenever he got something new and better- he'd save the old part. he just built my 4 year old his own computer (no internet- just games) out of old parts (case, monitor, mouse and keyboard included).
we can't possibly share a computer. dh knows computers- but he, well, sometimes makes mistakes. i'm still trying to figure out how installing a new video card can lead to us to having reinstall windows.
I hear Macs are not only better at handling graphics but more low-maintenance than PCs too, less problems with the OS. That true? My main reason for wanting to stay PC is because we have 4 PCs all networked and Troy can fix all my problems.
Could a mac network with our PCs? Could I maintain it myself (I wouldn't dream of maintaining my own PC, too much to learn and I just don't care to spend the time doing that when Troy can do it and leave to me to my preferred hobbies!)

At home I am in severe ram deficit at only 128, running PSE and the Internet makes PSE slow as molasses! That will be fixed this summer, I'll have to go up to 512 if I can afford it.
At work I'm on a T-1 line with my iMac, which is super-fast, but then I'm networked to every other school system in Kentucky, and they have serious network blocks to keep out stuff kids shouldn't see. Luckily most of my mb sites are still not blocked...can't get my personal email tho, just work email.
Anyway, I use an eMachines that is less than 1 yr old, desktop, and I don't know how fast the processor is but I wish it was faster!!

I'm am an unabashed Microsoft lover, but I love Apple a lot too! God has blessed me with a really nice (if old) Dell PC, and I have learned Windows 2000 (pro and server) and XP (home) inside out. However, I have also done a lot of research on Macs and love the look and feel. (Although, I must say, I've never actually USED one, yet). Last year I did a big research paper on Mac vs. PC, and found that they are basically tied.
I also do a lot of computer programming, and Windows is reasonably easy to program. I haven't seen the same ease (or network of support) for Mac, but Mac has the nice draw of being highly scriptable.
The only major advantage (aside from the stunning design and un-usability) of a Mac for graphic design is the improved font support.
Someday, I'll probably get a Mac, but for now, I love Windows. Plus, I love where Windows is going...Longhorn!!

I use an iMac 17" flat screen G4. I love it. DH is a diehard Mac user so no PC's allowed! LOL!
