So this round, take a look at Australian Opals 1 (http://store.digitalscrapbookplace.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=6331) and Australian Opals 2 (http://store.digitalscrapbookplace.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=6332) and see if you likey!
DSP member Bethliz put me up to this and I'm so glad she did! She showed me the rather disappointing digital opal kits elsewhere and then some nice brighter examples of real opals, so I hope I've come close to what she was thinking of.
Choose EITHER Australian Opals 1 OR 2 to purchase and upload a layout using it by Sunday, September 2, to get the posting bonus add on pack, shown here (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=209320&cat=744).
Post your layout in the Elisabeth's Extras Gallery (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=2645) if it's not doing double duty with another ongoing challenge. But definitely post a link to it below in this thread so I don't miss you when sending out the add on pack bonus!
I can't wait to see these all bright and shiny layouts! Thanks everyone!

Here is one i did with a pic of my mum and dads wedding...sadly though they have been divorced for some time...but this captures them at a happy time....thus i labeled it Mum and Dad a New Beggining...i mucked around with the elements and made a title out of the word love because of course that is what weddings are all about...Cheers Liz

Thank you Elizabeth for these beautiful kits. Please forgive the altering of the frame from AO1 but I just love those color opals and I had so much fun learning how to use the warp tool. Of course I messed up the drop shadow in the process but I'm still a learning newbie! Here is the link to my layout:

Here's the LO I did with Australian Opals 2 and a few of my dh's photographs of today's Lunar eclipse. He wishes for longer lenses now but I reminded him that this type of event won't happen again in our lifetime. I think I convinced him to save the money, LOL.

Here is my layout using the gorgeous "Australian Opals" kit. The photo I used was labeled "Technicolor Greta", and that was my inspiration for this one. I did some layering at different blend modes and layered and rotated the opals for the corner elements. Here's "Technicolor Tresses":

thanks for the bonus Elizabeth - I started out using the white opal paper but went back to this gorgeous pink paper. I messed with the hue $ saturation to get the paper toning with the tulip photos I took today. I have had fun with this kit.
Here is Tulip Spring Time (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=210590&nocache=1).
I went and had a look at my opal jewellry last night. You white opal is spot on with my white opal bracelet. My husband brought it back from the opal mines at Cooper Peedy while on a business trip.

Just a note to self; bonus sent out to here. Wow, I'm really truly enjoying all the layouts with your fab photos to go with the brights! Thanks for the note on the comparison to the real opals, Joan! I have a couple of opal necklaces but they're "floating" opals (in some fluid in glass teardrops) and I didn't even get them out to go by. All the rings I've ever had growing up were too thick with white and hardly useful to copy. And I've never had any of the spectacular ones Bethliz showed me that were so bright!

  PSE froze up on me just as I was about to finish my LO but I had forgotten to save my layers   although I had saved a jpg early on - I've uploaded that so as to get in before the deadline - hope you'll give me a bit of extra time to finish it off please Elisabeth?

No problem, Dawn - I saw what you've gotten done! I hope the outcome suits when you're REfinished!
Next BOGO challenge is for a kit that isn't in the store yet, but it has rich lustrous fall colors of turquoise, bronze, and gold. Think WARM though; it has a flame in it! Coming soon!
