What program should I buy to design my own digital kits?

And, how does that work once I buy the program?

Do you start from scratch or alter pictures?

The designers here work from scratch most of the time - and we have designers who use Photoshop and Designers who use Paint Shop Pro

Lauren is right...starting form scratch is best generally because you want all the elements to look, well, real but not scanned in KWIM? It takes alot of persistence at first to get things right with shadows and all but in the end when you finally make a kit your proud of its fun, but be warned, its very addictive!

I live for PS but used PSP for years so either work well I just find PS has more tools that expand my ability to manipulate my creations.
