Any suggestions before I install it? I currently have PSP 8 installed already :)

Thanks in advance!

You can leave 8 on if you want for at least a little while, but be forewarned that anything you create in 9 (pspimage file) cannot be opened in 8 unless you specify that when saving it in 9. Hmmmm, run on sentence? Hope you got that. Also, when you decide to delete 8, either move all the 8 brushes and preshapes and all that sort of stuff over to the 9 files, or direct your 9 to look in the 8 folders. Good lord, another oddly worded sentence! Sorry! HTH anyway!

I would hang onto v8 until you are sure you have everything you want from it. a lot of the shapes and what not dont transfer over. Also if you want to just take a file back to v8 to work because it ill be easier at the time, save it as a photoshop file (psd) and it will open in v8 with layers and all. I don't know why jasc didn't make it so your psp file can't open up in an earlier version though

I asked that same question in the forums - they added some stuff that V8 doesn't have. BUT, you can tell it to save in a pspimage format that can be read by V8 and even V7 if you want.

Cool, thanks for the responses! I finally installed it and so far I really like it! I was playing around a bit with it last night and noticed a few differences. I will definately need to install my masks and picture frames though ... they sure don't provide many! Oh well. I think I read somewhere that you can download them from the Jasc site?

Can't wait to get started on my first PSP9 LO!

All the PSP8 files that you like can be loaded into PSP9 as long as you have PSP8 installed, or you can make copies of those folders with the graphics and put them in your MyPSPFiles folder. PSP9 automatically looks in there for graphics.
To load them into PSP9 right from v8, just click the folders icon in the menus to Edit Paths and browse to the file location.
Or under File>Preferences add the PSP8 folders under File locations.

Sounds more complicated than it really is. It's just a matter of browsing to the folder with the graphics. You know exactly where they all are too, because when you hover the mouse over a pattern or brush or anything, the name pops up with the path where it's located on the hard drive.

Have fun!
