Need a scanner, what's your favorite? xp

I'm looking into getting a new scanner. We had one given to us by my BIL, but he did not have the power cord. We found one that works, but everything we scan ends up having lines all across it. Don't know if it's the scanner or the cord or what.

So looking into getting a new one. Don't need a hugely fancy one, but don't want a super cheapie one either.

Does anyone have any great suggestions?? TIA!

I have an Epson Perfection 4490 and am enjoying it a lot. It will scan negatives and slides straight into your computer as well as great scans of photos etc. Its not very expensive, got mine on sale and a rebate of 30 dollars as well. I bought mine at Staples.
