Has anyone compared the cost of printing at home to taking your layouts somewhere and having them printed?

Thought it would be interesting

Actually margie has. She figures with paper and ink it cost her about $1.75 for an 8.5x11. I get mine printed at kinko's for $1.50.

Sheesh - well that is great for you lot over there in consumer heaven - it is way more expensive over here - Paper costs are over $1 each page - and ink - well just dont go there with me - in fact our local consumer rights tv programme did a little thing on computer ink just this week - per mill it is more expensive than the most expensive french perfume and the most expensive congac !!!
I am in the market for a new scanner and I think I will go for one of these multifunction printer scanners as there is a Canon one for which I can get refills ( generic) for only $10 each which is less than a third of what I can get my (generic) epson ones for.

To get an 8x10 printed at an online photo place here costs me a minimum of $7 each ( if I get 5 done at a time) - so I am always looking for a cheaper option!!!!!!!
