This month we're trying something different and you are going to be at the chat and then checking out the challenge!!

The chat will be on Tuesday, October 9th at 9:15pm EST.

The challenge will run from after the chat until October 23rd!!

We have two great featured kits and TWO coordinating add-ons!! You can get one by coming to the chat and the other one by using either featured kit to do the challenge!!

(As always, you get the posting bonus for using either kit; the prompt is just to give you ideas or stretch you into a new area you haven't tried.)

GET CRAFTY! Find a tutorial anywhere online for a gift you'd like to make. We have some right here at DSP in the tut section, but it doesn't have to be from here. If you find a great craft gift anywhere online, use it! Link us to the tutorial in your post so we can try it too!

Keep in mind that Christmas is coming up, so you can get started on those things if you celebrate it. Check out the board books in the store and other Beyond the Layout ideas. I love the purses!

If you came to the chat, you got the chat freebie which is an add on for Staples of Love. If you use either Staples of Love page kit from the store, or Paisley & Persimmon from the store, you will get via pm a link to download the add on pack for Paisley & Persimmon. Any kit hints? It is the eve before the 4th and some people (not me of course) stalk the store and click new products at the stroke of midnight. I hear they love filling their carts on the 4th with all the new goodies for the month.

Love the idea of the board books, I went and looked at them. Does anyone know if they can be made with the layouts without pictures, so that the gift reciever can add them later? My son and daughter-in-law are expecting. Would love to make it so they can add the pictures when she is born. I could then give it to them at the hospital. I know it said Christmas gift. But, this is where my mind went when I was looking at them. Make more of a brag book.

Oh great idea! They are png files; I'd think you can print them, cut them, get the board book and give them the set. The happy couple can glue the photos behind the cut out holes, and then adhere them to the board book with Xyron or glue. Super gift!

Thanks everyone for your patience with me! I found a little pocket of time tonight and have sent out the bonus to here. Also managed to take my girl to the beach (water was still warm enough to get wet!) at the lake so she could build a sand castle for her miniature pumpkin. It is a school assignment - she is supposed to care for it like a baby over the next week; take it with her everywhere and journal what it did, just like the flat grannies and other flat peeps around here! Bwaa haa haa, too funny. It is sleeping in a bowl in her room with a pillow and a tiny teddy bear. So far it doesn't wear diapers or anything though, thankfully.

LOLOL Z......When Carrie was in high school, they had to do a similar thing with a 5 lb bag of sugar.....wrap it in a blankie and care for it like a baby...LOL. Of course, this wasn't a "fun" project for Carrie and it was before I was scrapping, so no photos. The baby pumpkin sounds much cuter. LOL

I've seen eggs and the dolls which simulate a 'real' baby, but never a pumpkin. Sounds like your daughter is a good Mommy. A trip to the beach with sand castle building and a nice comfy bed near Mommy.

I have promised Isabella when the time comes she is wearing one of those preggo suits. After that comes the baby...

Christina you jest but I actually am a grandma! My five year old has grown-up step-siblings, and her brother and his wife have a two year old boy and a baby girl under a year. My dil takes beautiful photos and I really need to get caught up with things so I can scrap them more often! She also scrapbooks so I'm not under pressure, but the kids are beautiful and I want to make them some more pages.

Here I am still on my daughter's LAST year's school photos! But I tell you I am going to get the England trip all scrapped or die trying. *checks list*

OK, I was up for the challenge, but what kind of craft to do??? I made a goodie bag using Z's Paisley & Persimmon (http://store.digitalscrapbookplace.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=6590) kit to hold little loaves of pumpkin bread! One little loaf pan fits inside! Here it is -

Actually a co-worker of mine brought some paper scrap stuff to work one day and we played with it when work was slow. I never paper scrapped so it was very different to see how some techniques work in paper and some don't, and vice versa. I would never change over but I love how with paper you can have pockets and fold over parts.
