I actually have a Photobook creator with six album covers (it was my mother's day present this year) but I haven't had a chance to use it. I barely have time to digiscrap right now, so I am reduced to about 10 minutes a day of drooling over everyone's layouts and projects. I can't wait to see what you all have created!

Is this a one time thing? I'd love to join in a challenge like this, but right now I have too much going on. Maybe in the spring?

Hey Margie, That goes in line with letting them create their own book. You could do some blank pages of the text they want for the story, bind the book...then let them illustrate their story!! :) We paid oodles to do that before and this would be so much less expensive! :)

Margie: Oh you clever, clever, girl!!! That is just so way beyond cool!! How did you think of that?? I wouldn't have come up with that in a hundred years.

Kim: That is a great idea, too. The possiblities are almost endless. My mind is spining!

I wanna see more ideas! Anyone else have anything I can whistfully drool over?

Thank you, Gwendalin :) :) The hardest part was putting together all the pages... the Photobook Creator was the easy part. :) :)

Are any of u printing on both sides of the paper? If so, what kind of paper are u using? Is there a template that we can use to print on front and back?

Yes, I use double sided matte photo paper by Staples. I find the matte does not show the finger prints. I scrap 12x12 and then print out either 12x12 or 8x8. When you scrap just keep in mind how it will go into the book and try not to put things close to that edge. You only put about 1/4 inch into the spine of the book. Be sure to allow the ink to dry before printing on the other side.

I also print both sides, but I like the weight and feel of the HP Brochure Paper... Epson's paper is great, too!! :)

Hey there again, all...

Kim: do you use matte or glossy HP Brochure paper?

I have the matte HP brochure paper but I am finding that my prints look slightly dull. Not so much that it's really that big of a deal. However, I am wondering if I should try and play around with the settings on for my printer to improve that issue (I have an HP Photosmart C5180 Alll-In-One).

Anyone: If I print on Glossy brochure paper, is there a big chance of smearing? I am a little hesitant.

I am slowly making each page for my photobook, at this rate I might be done by NEXT Fall...maybe! But I am learning and enjoying as I go. Pesky bills and work and laundry and cooking. I need a few clones of myself so I can just do scrapping all day!!

I do have the glossy. I have used both, but lean a little more to the glossy because it isn't as dull and the pics pop a little better. I don't necessarily like the glossy look though... wish we could have the best of both worlds.

I printed another book this morning... 30 pages of the brochure glossy to put in the white 8x8 cover (layout samples). I could have printed both sides, but was in too much of a hurry for that.

I have not experienced smearing at all with the HP Brochure Glossy. I let the pages print and stack up on the printer, no problem. I even let the kids grab them right off the printer...same...no issues with ink transfer. :)

Hope that helps. :)

Sorry it took me so long to read and respond. I really appreciate the input. I agree, a brochure paper somewhere in between glossy and and matte would be great! Like a "satin" finish or something.

Wow, you are like lightening with Photobook Creator! I can't wait until I have that many layouts done to print out! Is the photobook of layout samples something you might post pictures of?

Yes, that is extremely helpful information about the glossy brochure paper. Thank you so very much.:)
