Inspiration:
I have been totally inspired recently by the awesome photo effects that you guys always come up with!!! Sometimes it is as simple as a black and white photo that catchs my attention and screams LOOK AT ME!!! Or a sepia toned picture that looks so warm and inviting! But there are also those effects that make me go...HMMMM...how did they do that????? So my challenge to you is to use some sort of effect on your photos, whether it is B&W, sepia, filters, or something new and totally different!!!!

Great Idea Nicole, just thought that I would also point out that Meg posted a call for DSM for Tips Tricks and Tutorials due on the 22nd October, so if we use some particularly cool effect, the LO could also be submitted!

Great layouts!!! I am finally "feeling" fall here at my house...it jumped from 87 degrees 2 days ago to 60 today!!! Unfortunately the beginning of fall also brought the flu to our house!!! YUCK!!!! I have dodged the bullet so far....keepin my fingers crossed!!!!

I did two versions of the same page. One with a before photo and one without. The before shows two versions of the photo with FX applied and the other shows it with three. The effects are:

Levels changed and colour removed
Levels changed blured a bit scratches and smudges applied
Levels changed mono colour applied bit of motion blur and a few other things which are kind of hard to explain.

Your kit was awesome to work with! Love all the colors and elements in it!! And I loved the challenge of trying to use special effects (or FX, as you put it!). I used sepia tone on two of the photos and lowered the opacity so that you could follow the 'series' of pictures.

Well, it looks like I missed the deadline for the bonus, but here's mine. This photo was rather dark as well as being quite faded . I did what I could with the regular editing tools, but it still looked washed out. I layered 2 copies. The first I converted to grayscale and then used Virtual Photographer's "Orange Crush" filter. On the top layer I used the Dissolve blend mode at50% opacity. Then I adjusted the brightness and contrast just a bit. The film strip shows all the steps, a bit out of order because it looked better that way. Resizing made it appear quite grainy, it's not as pronounced in the full size page.Here's my link:
