Hello,
I've just signed up to this forum. I was introduced to scrapbooking about 2 months ago. I got straight into hardcopy scrapbooking my children; then onto family history. This has opened up a WHOLE new interest in family history for me; combined with looking to the digital world for a way to organise my 'stuff'.
I would like to get into digital scrapbooking as a way to organise my material. I have mainly photographs; some text and scanned documents; There seem a few different programs that will allow arranging material BUT nothing that seems to have the flexibility I need.
1) I would really like to include other media - espeically video clips (from recent digital cameras) and audio (that I can capture from old cassettes of family gatherings). I can prepare these elsewhere and just need tobe able to insert a video or audio object. What programs allow me to include these?
2) I would also like to hyperlink my material... so where people both come from the same place to include a link to a scrapbook/page about that place. However I can't find a program that allows hyperlinking scrapped material (perhaps I want ebooks rather than digital scrapbooks?). Does anyone know of appropriate software that allows placing of scrapbook items; wiht option for hyperlinking?
3) To add to my wish list I would also like to include those fancy page turning displays that some shops use for their catalogues; but I'm not sure what standards there are for generating such 'ebooks' or 'ecatalogues'... I mean what readers would people have for viewing my super-dupa scrap creation? A static pdf file just wouldn't allow those multi-media items to be viewed.
Finally if anyone has examples of multi-media scrapbooking I would love to see them; and what programs created them. I have programs to prepare the video; audio and images... I just need something simple to arrange them; create nice backgraounds; hyperlink and then display these in a format that other people could easily read....
Thanks in advance!
Susan
